Objective: There are variations in prognosis and therapeutic approach for renal cell carcinoma among different histological subtypes. This study aims to determine the relationship between radiologically detected peritumoral neovascularization and the histological subtypes of Renal Cell Carcinoma (RCC) and to assess whether extratumoral neovascularization characteristics detected via imaging can contribute to distinguishing these subtypes alongside tumor size and T-stage.
Materials And Methods: 104 renal tumors from 104 cases consisting of 31 females (29.
Post acne erythema (PAE) is a common sequela of acne inflammation, and it refers to telangiectasia and erythematous lesions remaining after the acne treatment. Although some PAE may improve over time, persisting PAE might be esthetically undesirable for patients. The efficacy of various treatment options for PAE has been investigated in many studies but there exists no gold standard treatment modality.

Gastroenteropancreatic neuroendocrine neoplasms (GEP-NENs) are a heterogeneous group of neoplasms with an increasing incidence in the last few decades. Despite therapeutic advances in the management of GEP-NENs, resistance to many of these treatments has made their management a great challenge. One of the most recent advances in oncologic therapy is targeting multiple receptors simultaneously and engaging immune cells in the tumor microenvironment through bispecific antibodies (BsAbs).

To investigate the protective role of high dose melatonin concerning myocardial I/R injury and inflammation in patients undergoing on-pump coronary artery bypass grafting (CABG) surgery by evaluating IR/inflammatory biomarkers and clinical outcomes. This was a prospective; randomized; single-blinded placebo-controlled study conducted at cardio-thoracic surgery department of the Academy of the Cardiovascular and Thoracic Surgery, Ain Shams University. Eligible patients were randomly allocated to; melatonin-treated group (MTG) or placebo-treated group (PTG).

Thrombus is the main finding in most patients with acute coronary syndrome (ACS), the type of which potentially impacts the end result of the interventional procedure in terms of no reflow and edge dissection. Optical coherence tomography (OCT) is considered a precise intra-vascular tool to image thrombi and characterise its properties. We aimed to study the impact of thrombus type, as defined by OCT, on procedural outcome in ACS patients.

The purpose of this study is to assess the efficacy, short- and long-term cardiovascular and non-cardiovascular mortalities and postoperative morbidities of surgical pulmonary embolectomy (SPE) for patients with massive or submassive pulmonary embolism. Methods: A comprehensive literature review was performed to identify articles reporting SPE for pulmonary embolism. The outcomes included in-hospital and long-term mortality in addition to postoperative morbidities.

This study aimed to compare the pre- and post-operative temporomandibular joint (TMJ) condylar position in dentofacial deformity (DFD) patients who had orthognathic surgeries using cone beam computed tomography (CBCT). A retrospective study evaluating the pre- and post-operative CBCT for 79 DFD patients (equivalent to 158 TMJs) (mean age = 26.62 ± 9.

Background: no-reflow can complicate up to 25% of pPCI and is associated with significant morbidity and mortality. We aimed to compare the outcomes of intracoronary epinephrine and verapamil with intracoronary adenosine in the treatment of no-reflow after primary percutaneous coronary intervention (pPCI).
Methods: 108 STEMI patients had no-reflow during pPCI were assigned into four groups.

Background: Awareness of radiation hazards and methods to reduce radiation dose is a sine qua non for all staff working in the cath-lab for their own safety and their patient's safety.
Results: There were large variations in the implementation of radiation protection techniques with overall inadequate radiation risk knowledge. Some members of the cath-lab team are at higher risk of radiation-induced side effects, including the fellows, nurses, technicians, and anaesthesiologists because they spent longer time in the cath-lab and/or their position in relation to the source of radiation.

Background And Aim: The incidence of cancer colon has increased dramatically. In addition, the database lacks a review to analyze the outcomes of surgeries for mid-transverse colon cancer with several recent controversial studies. We aimed to compare the outcomes of extended hemicolectomy versus transverse colectomy for mid-transverse colon cancer.

Being one of the most common abdominal surgical procedures, numerous techniques have been adapted to decrease post-operative pain post cholecystectomy. However, the efficacy of intravenous (IV) lidocaine in managing post operative pain after LC is still controversial, according to many recent studies. This study aims to detect the effectiveness of IV lidocaine compared to other medications in managing post-operative pain.

Pacemaker therapy is the cornerstone in treatment of bradycardia and conduction disorders. Several diagnostic tools are utilized to diagnose and guide the physicians for appropriate management and accordingly proper utilization of pacemaker therapy. The current article is discussing the different diagnostics used for appropriate evaluation and diagnosis of bradyarrhythmias and the suggested solutions to improve bradycardia diagnosis and pacemaker therapy utilization in underpenetrated areas.

Background: Dynamic functional substrate mapping of scar-related ventricular tachycardia offers better identification of ablation targets with limited ablation lesions. Several functional substrate mapping approaches have been proposed, including decrement-evoked potential (DEEP) mapping. The aim of our study was to compare the short- and long-term efficacy of a DEEP-guided versus a fixed-substrate-guided strategy for the ablation of scar-related ventricular tachycardia (VT).

Background: Speckle-tracking echocardiography (STE) is an upcoming echocardiographic modality to measure global as well as segmental left ventricular systolic function expressed numerically as strain values independent of angle and ventricular geometry. We conducted this prospective study on 200 healthy preschool children with structurally normal hearts, to determine gender-based differences in two-dimensional (2D) global longitudinal strain (GLS) and three-dimensional (3D) GLS.
Results: Age-matched 104 males and 96 females were included, 2D GLS results for the males showed longitudinal strain ranging from - 18.

For the past two decades since their discovery, scientists have linked microRNAs (miRNAs) to posttranscriptional regulation of gene expression in critical cardiac physiological and pathological processes. Multiple non-coding RNA species regulate cardiac muscle phenotypes to stabilize cardiac homeostasis. Different cardiac pathological conditions, including arrhythmia, myocardial infarction, and hypertrophy, are modulated by non-coding RNAs in response to stress or other pathological conditions.

MicroRNAs (miRNAs; miRs) are small non-coding ribonucleic acids sequences vital in regulating gene expression. They are significant in many biological and pathological processes and are even detectable in various body fluids such as serum, plasma, and urine. Research has demonstrated that the irregularity of miRNA in multiplying cardiac cells is linked to developmental deformities in the heart's structure.

Background: Red cell transfusion remains the gold standard in managing sickle cell disease (SCD) with severe complications. Offering red blood cell exchange (RBCX) either manual exchange transfusion (MET) or automated RBCX (aRBCX) can reduce the complications of chronic transfusion and maintain target Hb thresholds. This study audits the hospital experience of overseeing adult SCD patients treated with RBCX, both automated and manual, and compares the safety and efficacy.

Background: Although SARS-CoV-2 infection primarily affects adults, the increasing emergence of infected pediatric patients has been recently reported. However, there is a paucity of data regarding the value of imaging in relation to the clinical severity of this pandemic emergency.
Objectives: To demonstrate the relationships between clinical and radiological COVID-19 findings and to determine the most effective standardized pediatric clinical and imaging strategies predicting the disease severity.
