Heterocyclic Synthesis Laboratory, Department of Chemistry, Faculty of Science, Ain Shams University 11566, Abbassia, Cairo, Egypt.

The structural optimization of our recently reported CDK9 inhibitor to furnish novel aminopyrazolones and methylpyrazolones with improved pharmacokinetics. The synthesis of the targeted compounds was accomplished via conventional, grinding and microwave-assisted processes. The cytotoxicity of them was assayed against three carcinomas.

A significant amount of dye runoff and aqueous waste are released from the manufacturing process of dyes with intense and permanent colors, which are undesirable from a cultural and ecological aspect. In this paper, we present a green, simple, low-effort, and energy-efficient method of creating magnetized cubic Zn-MOFs for the adsorption and elimination of various organic dyes. Magnetic iron oxide materials with a hierarchical structure were loaded and doped into cubic zinc metal-organic frameworks (MDLZ).

A series of arylidenes derivatives was synthesized under ultrasonic methodology Knoevenagel condensation reaction of cyanoacetohydrazide derivative with the appropriate aldehydes and/or ketone. The anticancer properties of the newly synthesized compounds were tested against four different human cancer cell lines (HEPG-2, MCF-7, HCT-116, and PC-3); compounds 5d and 6 demonstrated the greatest anticancer activity against all cancer cell lines. The MLR technique was used to create the QSAR model using five molecular descriptors (AATS6p, AATS7p, AATS8p, AATS0i, and SpMax4_Bhv).

The photophysical characteristics of some homoleptic ruthenium(ii) phenanthroline derivatives are investigated in aqueous medium. The lifetimes of the excited MLCT state of the studied complexes were found to be very sensitive to the type of the substituents on the phenanthroline ligand and were found to increase from about 0.96 μs in case of the parent [Ru(Phen)] complex to 2.

Exposure to low concentrations of heavy metal cations seriously harms living organisms, hence they are considered environmental toxins. Portable simple detection systems are required for field monitoring of multiple metal ions. In this report, paper-based chemosensors (PBCs) were prepared by adsorbing 1-(pyridin-2-yl diazenyl) naphthalen-2-ol (chromophore), which recognizes heavy metals, onto filter papers coated with mesoporous silica nano spheres (MSNs).

Regarding the structural analysis of variable effective CDK-9 suppressors, we record the design and synthesis of two new sets of sulfaguanidine-based azopyrazolidine-3,5-diones and 3,5-diaminoazopyrazoles with expected anticancer and CDK-9 inhibiting activity. In the designed molecules, the pyrazole ring and sulphaguanidine fragment were linked together for the first time through diazo linkers as they are expected to enhance the anticancer activity and CDK degrading interaction. All derivatives have been estimated regarding their cytotoxic activity toward three tumor cells where CDK overexpression has been reported (HePG2, HCT-116, and MCF-7).

Alzheimer's disease (AD) is the most common type of dementia and progresses from mild memory loss to severe decline in thinking, behavioral and social skills, which dramatically impairs a person's ability to function independently. Genetics, some health disorders and lifestyle have all been connected to AD. Also, environmental factors are reported as contributors to this illness.

Article Synopsis
  • A new acid hydrazide derivative was created and converted into various N-heterocycles, including pyridazinone and oxadiazole, by reacting with specific carbon electrophiles.
  • The structures of these compounds were confirmed through analytical and spectroscopic methods.
  • The resulting N-heterocycles showed significant insecticidal activity, particularly against lab strains of larvae, with some compounds being more effective than the commonly used insecticide imidacloprid, suggesting their potential as alternatives in pest control.

Chemical investigation of secondary metabolites in crude methanol extract of a solid rice medium of a marine-derived fungus, , has enriched the metabolic profile of this genus by affording three mycophenolic acid derivatives recognized as new fungal metabolites trivially named as penicacids H-J (1-3), along with two known naphtho-γ-pyrone dimers, asperpyrone A (4) and dianhydroaurasperone C (5). Structure elucidation of isolated compounds was unambiguously determined based on extensive 1D and 2D NMR spectroscopic analyses together with comparing coupling constant and optical rotation values with those reported for related congeners in literature. All isolated compounds were assessed for their antibacterial activity against four different bacterial microorganisms and they revealed moderate to weak activities with minimum inhibitory concentration (MIC) values ranging from 62.

Solid-state dye-sensitized solar cells (ss-DSSCs) comprising Sn-substituted ZnO nanopowder were purposefully tailored a co-precipitation method. The solar cells assembled in this work were sensitized with N719 ruthenium dye and insinuated with spiro-OMeTAD as a solid hole transport layer (HTL). Evidently, significant enhancement in cell efficiency was accomplished with Sn ions-substituted ZnO photoelectrodes by maintaining the weight ratio of SnO at 5%.
