Heterogeneous photocatalysis has been widely explored as a promising solution for dye degradation due to its cost-effectiveness, ease of recovery, and use of green technology. Precisely, iron-doped cadmium sulfide (CdS) exhibits greater efficiency because of its higher charge separation, more electron transfer efficiency, and adsorption under visible region. In this study, two different ratios of iron-doped cadmium sulfide (CdFeS/GO) nanocomposites such as CdFeS/GO and CdFeS/GO were synthesized using the coprecipitation method and characterized with UV-Vis DRS, XRD, FT-IR, Raman, XPS, and HR-TEM.

Lanthanum oxide was successfully synthesized by hydrothermal method by varying the reaction time such as 6, 12, and 24 h. In XRD, study confirms the presence of a hexagonal structure, and the phase remains the same at different times; the main goal is to assess the average crystallite size of prepared LaO nanoparticles, which was found in the range of 6 to 8 nm. An interesting observation from the XRD data was the apparent increase in crystalline nature as the synthesis time was extended.

Fabrication of one-dimensional Zn-doped BiS nanorods for photodiode applications.

Luminescence

September 2024

BioNanocomposite Research Center, Department of Food and Nutrition, Kyung Hee University, Seoul, Republic of Korea.

In this research, the impact of the different zinc (Zn) concentrations on the physical and optoelectronic properties of BiS nanorods as self-powered and photodiode applications was investigated. The performance of P-N junction photodiodes has been for decades since they are crucial in energy applications. The structure, degree of crystallinity, and shape of Zn-doped BiS nanorods of various doping percentages formed onto the indium tin oxide (ITO) substrates by the dip coating technique are investigated using X-ray powder diffraction (XRD) and SEM.

Alternative fuel opportunities can satisfy energy security and reduce carbon emissions. In this regard, the hydrogen fuel is derived from the source of environmental pollutants like sewage and algae wastewater through hydrothermal gasification technique using a KOH catalyst with varied gasification process parameters of duration and temperature of 6-30 min and 500-800 °C. The novelty of the work is to identify the optimum gasification process parameter for obtaining the maximum hydrogen yield using a KOH catalyst as an alternative fuel for agricultural engine applications.

Driving safely is crucial to avoid death, injuries, or financial losses that can be sustained in an accident. Thus, a driver's physical state should be monitored to prevent accidents, rather than vehicle-based or behavioral measurements, and provide reliable information in this regard. Electrocardiography (ECG), electroencephalography (EEG), electrooculography (EOG), and surface electromyography (sEMG) signals are used to monitor a driver's physical state during a drive.
