Introduction: Wide resections of periacetabular tumors create a sizeable bony defect that inevitably results in severe loss of function. Reconstruction of such defects usually requires using large metal implants, a feature associated with considerable surgery extension and complications. The aim of this study is to report resection with no reconstruction of the bony defect.

Purpose: The purpose of this study is to find prognostic factors associated with low visual acuity in patients experiencing vitreous loss during cataract surgery.
Methods: A retrospective, noncomparative, interventional, case study of patients experiencing vitreous loss during cataract surgery. Data collected included demographics, best corrected visual acuity (BCVA), axial length (AL), presence of ocular comorbidity affecting central vision, timing of intraocular lens (IOL) implantation, position of the implanted lens, and the presence of corneal sutures.

Objectives: Nontuberculous mycobacteria (NTM) infections pose a diagnostic challenge in peritoneal dialysis (PD) patients. In this study, we sought to identify findings that are suggestive of NTM infection in PD adult patients.
Methods: All patients with NTM exit-site infection (ESI) with/without tunnel infection and peritonitis identified during the last decade in eight medical centers in Israel were included.

Survival rates of these patients remain significantly low, despite surgery and chemotherapy. Methods: Plasma lipids and associated variables were compared at baseline and 1 year (12±4 mo) after surgery for registry patients with dyslipidemia enrolled from June 2013 to August 2014.

We hereby summarize a case reported by the authors, as well as all of the previously reported cases, of patients suffering from both systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) and inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) that have been published in the English literature. In most cases, SLE was diagnosed prior to IBD, and the latter was of the ulcerative colitis subtype. Interestingly, the first disease diagnosed was almost never active at the time the second disease manifested itself.

A 68-year-old man reported upper abdominal pain during the previous 3 months that worsened in the last 2 days. He had a history of lung squamous cell carcinoma for which he underwent right lung lobectomy 3 years earlier. Preliminary blood tests showed leucocytosis with marked eosinophilia.
