Introduction And Importance: Transcatheter aortic valve implantation (TAVI) is a minimally invasive procedure used to treat severe aortic stenosis. While TAVI is generally safe and effective, it can be complicated by rare adverse events such as prosthetic leaflet dislodgment leading to acute free aortic regurgitation.
Case Presentation: We report the case of a female patient who experienced acute free aortic regurgitation following elective TAVI.

Objective: This study aims to estimate the frequency of unintended upper uterine wall extensions during cesarean delivery (CD) and identify associated risk factors and adverse outcomes.
Study Design: A multicenter retrospective cohort study was conducted, including patients who underwent CD between 2005 and 2021. Demographic factors, obstetric history, CD indications, delivery and surgical characteristics, adverse maternal and neonatal outcomes were compared between those with unintended upper uterine wall extensions during CD and those without extensions.

Background: Mounting evidence suggests that vitamin D deficiency is associated with a higher risk of many chronic non-skeletal, age-associated diseases as well as mortality.
Aim: To determine, in older patients aged ≥ 80, the prevalence of vitamin D deficiency and its association with comorbidity, laboratory tests, length of stay and mortality within one year from blood withdrawal on admission to acute geriatrics ward.
Methods: We retrospectively surveyed electronic hospital health records of 830 older patients.

Urinary incontinence, characterized by the involuntary leakage of urine, significantly impacts millions globally, affecting their quality of life, social interactions, and psychological well-being. Traditional diagnostic methods and treatments often fall short, especially for refractory urinary incontinence, due to their invasive nature and limited scope for continuous, real-time assessment. This narrative review critically examines current approaches to diagnosing and managing urinary incontinence, highlights significant gaps in practice, and underscores the urgent need for innovative solutions.

Purpose: Loss to follow-up (LTFU) in primary open-angle glaucoma (POAG) can lead to undertreatment, disease progression, and irreversible vision loss. Patients who become LTFU either eventually re-establish glaucoma care after a lapse or never return to the clinic. The purpose of this study is to examine a large population of patients with POAG who became LTFU to determine the proportion that return to care and to identify demographic and clinical factors associated with nonreturn after LTFU.

Objective: To assess the effect of each additional delivery among grand multiparous (GMP) women on maternal and neonatal outcomes.
Methods: A multi-center retrospective cohort study that examined maternal and neonatal outcomes of GMP women (parity 5-10, analyzed separately for each parity level) compared to a reference group of multiparous women (parity 2-4). The study population included grand multiparous women with singleton gestation who delivered in one of four university-affiliated obstetrical centers in a single geographic area, between 2003 and 2021.

An increased prevalence of vascular calcification (VC) has been reported in kidney stone formers (KSFs), along with an elevated cardiovascular risk. The aim of the current study is to assess whether VC in these patients develops at a younger age and is influenced by stone composition. This single-center, matched case-control study included KSFs with uric acid or calcium oxalate stones (diagnosed based on stone analysis) and age- and sex-matched controls without a history of nephrolithiasis.

Recently, the debate surrounding the use of mesh in urogynecological procedures has intensified, leading to FDA warnings and heightened safety concerns. This clinical opinion emphasizes the vital need to specify mesh types in these procedures, drawing attention to the risk profiles and clinical outcomes associated with various meshes and the procedures that utilize them. A significant issue identified in contemporary literature is the tendency to group diverse mesh types under the same umbrella, disregarding their unique characteristics and applications.
