Optimization of entrapping conditions to improve the release of BMP-2 from PELA carriers by response surface methodology.

A microcapsule prepared from triblock copolymer poly(lactic acid)-poly(ethylene glycol)-poly(lactic acid) (PLA-PEG-PLA, PELA) was investigated as a controlled release carrier for recombinant human bone morphogenetic protein-2 (rhBMP-2). The rhBMP-2/PELA microspheres were prepared using the water-in-oil-in-water (W/O/W) solvent evaporation method. This work was conducted to optimize the entrapping conditions of the rhBMP-2 loaded PELA copolymer.

Epidemiological study of the development of visual acuity in preschoolers aged 3 to 6 in the Shenzhen area.

Purpose: To investigate the visual acuity of preschoolers aged 3 to 6 years in Shenzhen of China.

Methods: Visual acuity was measured in preschoolers from eight kindergartens in Shenzhen.

Results: A total of 1147 children completed the visual acuity test.

PSMA7 inhibits the tumorigenicity of A549 human lung adenocarcinoma cells.

The gene for proteasome subunit alpha type-7 (PSMA7) is located in chromosomal 20q13.33, a region frequently amplified in tumor. In this study, we employed A549 human lung adenocarcinoma cells and showed that PSMA7 inhibits the proliferation, tumorigenicity and invasion of A549 cells in vitro.

[Effect of UBE2C overexpression on the proliferation of 293T cell line].

Aim: To establish a 293T cell line with stable expression of UBE2C and to investigate the effect of UBE2C overexpression on the proliferation of 293T cells.

Methods: Recombinant plasmid pcDNA3.1(-)/UBE2C successfully constructed in previous time was transfected into 293T cells by lipofectamine 2000.
