Lipid droplets (LDs) are globular biological organelles found in the human body, essential for lipid storage, homeostasis, energy reserve, cellular stress response, membrane biogenesis, and cellular signaling. Nitroxide radicals have wide and promising applications as organic magnetic materials. Modulating the isotropic hyperfine coupling constants (HFCCs) of these radicals through proper structural design is an effective strategy for their application as spin probes and spin labels. In this paper, the calorimetric response of the amorphous phase was examined in hybrid nanocomposites which were prepared thanks to a facile synthetic route, by adding reduced graphene oxide (rGO), Cloisite 30B (C30B), or multiwalled carbon nanotubes (MWCNT) to lignin-filled poly(lactic acid) (PLA). The dispersion of both lignin and nanofillers was successful, according to a field-emission scanning-electron microscopy (FESEM) analysis. Lignin alone essentially acted as a crystallization retardant for PLA, and the nanocomposites shared this feature, except when MWCNT was used as nanofiller.

Targeting Toll like Receptors in Cancer: Role of TLR Natural and Synthetic Modulators.

Background: Toll like receptors (TLRs) are a group of transmembrane receptors belonging to the broad class pattern recognition receptors (PRR), involved in recognition of Pathogen Associated Molecular Patterns (PAMPs) thereby inducing an immune response. Apart from these exogenous PAMPs, numerous endogenous PAMPs are also ligands for various TLRs thereby activating the TLR dependent immune response, subsequently leading to the onset of an inflammatory response. Prolonged activation of TLR by these endogenous PAMPs leads to chronic inflammatory insults to the body and which in turn alters the proliferative patterns of the cells, which ultimately leads to the development of cancer.

An in vivo study was carried out to investigate the ultrastructural effects of triclabendazole (TCBZ) on immature Fasciola gigantica in a goat model. Five goats were infected with an oral gavage of 150 metacercarial cysts of F. gigantica and anthelmintic treatment occurred at 4 weeks post infection with an oral dose of 10 mg/kg.

Cyclophosphamide (CPA) is an alkylating agent widely used for treating a variety of human malignancies, but associated with different toxicities too.
