The continuous rise in demand, combined with the depletion of the world's fossil fuel reserves, has forced the search for alternative fuels. The biodiesel produced from Roselle is one such indigenous biodiesel with tremendous promise, and its technical ability to operate with compression ignition engines is studied in this work. To characterize the fuel blends, researchers used experimental and empirical approaches while operating at engine loads of 25, 50, 75, and 100%, and with fuel injection timings of 19°, 21°, 23°, 25°, and 27° before top dead center.

The electrochemical performance of linuron (LNR) was studied by fabricating the carbon paste electrode (CPE) using multiwalled carbon nanotubes (MWCNTs) along with zinc oxide (ZnO) nanoparticles (MWCNTs/ZnO/CPE). The influence of electro-kinetic specifications involving steady heterogeneous rate, pH, sweep rate, temperature effect, transfer coefficient, accumulation time, activation energy, as well as the total number of protons and electrons participating in electro-oxidation of LNR has been established using voltammetric techniques like cyclic voltammetry (CV) and square wave voltammetry (SWV). These techniques were applied to investigate LNR in real samples such as soil including water samples.

Friction surfacing is a solid-state coating process that uses plastic deformation to improve the efficiency of the core metallic pattern, resulting in fine-grained coatings with superior wear and corrosion properties. This article focuses on the development of inherently homogeneous, non-diluted coating of AISI316Ti stainless steel above EN8 and also encloses the empirical relationship for the prediction of bond strength (B), coating thickness (C), and coating width (C). The key individualities for bonding geometry were believed to be the process parameters such as rotational speed (rpm), traverse speed (mm/s), and axial load (kN).

Thiazole based receptor 3, was designed and synthesized by condensation reactionof5-chlorosalicylaldehyde with 4-(4-phenylthiazol-2-yl)semicarbazide for colorimetric and fluorimetric detection of fluoride ion. Receptor 3 was characterized by H NMR, C NMR, and HRMS, and shows absorption in 280-400 nm region with emission at 442 nm in tetrahydrofuran (THF). Addition of fluoride ion to the THF solution of receptor 3 results in color change from colorless to yellow with significant change in UV-Visible absorption.

The dysfunctioning of β-cells caused by the unspecific misfolding of the human islet amyloid polypeptide (hIAPP) at the membrane results in type 2 diabetes mellitus. Here, we report for the first time, the early-stage interaction of hIAPP oligomers on the DMPC (1,2-dimyristoyl-sn-glycero-3-phosphocholine) lipid membrane using electrochemical parameters. Electrochemical techniques are better than other techniques to detect hIAPP at significantly lower concentrations.

Despite great advancements in optical materials and luminescent hosts, self-luminescent blue-emitting phosphors are very limited. In this study we present the influence of fuels used in combustion synthesis on the photoluminescence and thermoluminescence (TL) characteristics of self-luminescent Sr CeO blue-emitting phosphors. Four different fuels, oxalyldihydrazide (ODH), sugar, glycine, and ethylenediaminetetraacetic acid, were used to synthesize Sr CeO Powder X-ray diffraction patterns showed that pure orthorhombic Sr CeO was formed only with the ODH fuel and the other fuels resulted in the formation of impurity phases.

The vital role played by microtubules in the cell division process, marks them as a potential druggable target to decimate cancer. A novel furan-2-carboxamide based small molecule, is a selective microtubule stabilizing agent (MSA) with IC ranging from 4 µM to 8 µM in different cancer cell lines. Inhibition of tubulin polymerization or stabilization of tubulin polymers abrogates chromosomal segregation during cell division, results in cell cycle arrest and leads to cell death due to the delayed repair mechanism.
