Purpose: To compare the functional and anatomical outcomes of peeled internal limiting membrane reposition and traditional internal limiting membrane peeling for the treatment of idiopathic macular hole.

Methods: This is a randomized, single-center, and double-blinded, pilot, controlled trial.

Results: Of the 30 patients enrolled, 27 (13 in Group 1 and 14 in Group 2) were included in the primary analysis (22 women [81.

Purpose: To explore the clinical and molecular characteristics, diagnosis, and treatment of early-onset autosomal dominant neovascular inflammatory vitreoretinopathy (ADNIV) in Chinese patients.

Methods: A retrospective, interventional case series was assembled from three ADNIV patients.

Results: The three ADNIV cases harbored de novo CAPN5 mutations (p.

Macrophages are very important immune cells and play critical roles in tumour immunity. Macrophage subtypes can be divided into classical polarization (M1 macrophages) and alternative polarization (M2 macrophages) under different microenvironments. Krüppel-like factor 4 (KLF4) is an essential transcription factor for macrophage polarization.

Purpose: To evaluate the retinal vascularization of repeated intravitreal ranibizumab (IVR) for reactivated retinopathy of prematurity (ROP) treated with IVR monotherapy.

Methods: The retrospective study reviewed ROP infants who accepted IVR injection as the first treatment in our department from January 2017 to December 2018. The ratio of the distance from the center of the optic disc to the border of the vascularized zone (DB) to the distance from the center of the disc to the fovea (DF) was used for the vascular outgrowth analysis.

Purpose: To identify a novel mutation in with clinical and functional analysis among 516 familial patients with exudative vitreoretinopathy (FEVR).

Methods: Next-generation sequencing was performed on 516 patients with FEVR between January 2015 and October 2017. Clinical data were collected from patient charts, including sex, age at presentation, visual acuity if available, axial length, stage, and systemic clinical findings.

Retinopathy of prematurity (ROP) is a severe retinal dysfunction in prematurely born babies. The relationship between non-coding RNAs and retinopathy of prematurity (ROP) remain unclear. Microarray analysis of lncRNAs, miRNAs, and mRNAs was conducted in a mouse model of ROP.

Background: To delineate the characteristics of complicated familial exudative vitreoretinopathy (FEVR) patients diagnosed before surgery or intra-/post-operatively and to analyze the risk factors for the diagnostic timing.

Methods: Forty-eight patients who underwent surgery and were diagnosed as FEVR in our department were retrospectively reviewed. Data were collected including the demographic and clinical characteristics of these patients.

Background: Ischemic reperfusion injury of kidney is major cause for renal failure, however the involved pathogenesis remains unclear creating an void for its effective treatment. Here we studied involvement of microRNA-424 in renal injury.

Methods: For the study, p53 or HIF-1α mice were used, ischemic renal injury was induced using clamping of renal pedicles bilateraly.

Purpose: To identify novel mutations in and to investigate their pathogenicity in a cohort of Chinese patients with familial exudative vitreoretinopathy (FEVR).

Methods: Next-generation sequencing was performed in patients with a clinical diagnosis of FEVR. Wide-field angiography was performed in probands and family members if available.

Background: To introduce a novel surgical technique for optic capture by residual capsular opening in secondary intraocular lens (IOL) implantation and to report the outcomes of a long follow-up.

Methods: Twenty patients (20 eyes) who had received secondary IOL implantation with the optic capture technique were retrospectively reviewed. We used the residual capsular opening for capturing the optic and inserted the haptics in the sulcus during surgery.

: We compared the short-term, middle-term and long-term primary outcomes between thrombolysis and nonthrombolysis therapy in acute ischemic stroke (AIS) patients. Medical records were collected from patients suffered from AIS between 2010 and 2013 and allocated into either the intravenous recombinant tissue plasminogen activator (as rt-PA group) treatment, or non-rt-PA treatment group (as control group). The primary outcomes included a proportion of patients with favorable outcome [as defined with a modified Rankin Scale (mRS) of 0-1], functional independence (mRS of 0-2) or with bad outcome (mRS of 5-6) at 3, 6 and 12 months and the overall mortality.

Background: Allergy march refers to progression of allergic diseases from infantile food allergy to the development of asthma and allergic rhinitis (AR). Evidence come mostly from studies in European countries. This study aimed to investigate allergy march in Chinese children with infantile food protein allergy (FPA) with a special focus on the effect of different formula interventions.

BACKGROUND Sacrococcygeal teratoma (SCT) is a relatively uncommon tumor. Recurrence with poor survival and anorectal dysfunction are the 2 leading problems for patients. Here, we would review the clinic features of patients with SCTs in our hospital to identify risk factors of recurrent SCTs and to analyze anorectal functional sequelae.
