Objectives: To evaluate the added value of contrast-enhanced ultrasound (CEUS) on top of breast conventional imaging for predicting the upgrading of ductal carcinoma in situ (DCIS) to invasive cancer after surgery.
Methods: This retrospective study enrolled 140 biopsy-proven DCIS lesions in 138 patients and divided them into two groups based on postoperative histopathology: non-upgrade and upgrade groups. Conventional ultrasound (US), mammography (MMG), CEUS and clinicopathological (CL) features were reviewed and compared between the two groups.

Background: Brain arteriovenous malformation (BAVM) is one of the most common causes of cerebral hemorrhage in children. The effectiveness of one-stop hybrid operation in the treatment of BAVM in adults has been widely confirmed, but there are few study for the case in children. The aim of this study was to retrospectively analyze of the role and significance of one-stop hybrid surgery versus microsurgery in the treatment of BAVM in children.

The use of endovascular stent-graft has become an important option in the treatment of aortic pathologies. However, the currently used endograft membranes have limited ability to prevent bacterial colonization. This makes them unsuitable for the treatment of mycotic aneurysms, as the infection is prone to progress after endograft implantation.

Background: The goals of operative treatment for unilateral coronal synostosis (UCS) are to improve appearance and allow unrestricted brain growth. However, for severe unilateral premature closure of the coronal suture, existing methods do not address the compression of the brain or expand the volume of the skull cavity. We report our retrospective experience with bilateral fronto-orbital advancement combined with cranial vault release using a free-floating bone flap (CVR + FFBF) technique and the resulting changes in the anterior cranial vault asymmetry index (ACVAI) and intracranial volume.

Abdominal aortic aneurysm (AAA) represents the serious vascular degenerative disorder, which causes high incidence and mortality. Alpha-ketoglutarate (AKG), a crucial metabolite in the tricarboxylic acid (TCA) cycle, has been reported to exert significant actions on the oxidative stress and inflammation. However, its role in AAA still remains elusive.

Objective: To investigate factors that may lead to discordant results in radial and antiradial planes when applying a computer-aided diagnostic system (S-Detect) for breast ultrasound (US).
Methods: From May 2019 to September 2019, a total of 288 breast lesions from 286 consecutive women were analyzed. Diagnostic performance and diagnostic agreement of the CAD system between the radial and antiradial planes were calculated.

Aim: To determine the interobserver variability of experienced radiologists in evaluating the number of suspicious lymph nodes (LNs) seen on axillary ultrasound (AUS) examination, and to evaluate the effects of clinicopathological features on the discordance.
Material And Methods: A prospective non-randomised triple-blind study was conducted from July 2016 to December 2017 at Shanghai Ruijin Hospital. Three experienced radiologists performed AUS on 462 patients (469 axillae) with invasive breast cancer independently and assessed the number of abnormal LNs during the real-time AUS examination.

Objectives: We aimed to describe the feasibility of a surgical left thoracotomy for catheter ablation of scar-related ventricular tachycardia (VT) in patients with inaccessible pericardial access.
Background: Pericardial adhesion due to prior cardiac surgery or previous epicardial ablation procedures limits epicardial access in patients with drug-refractory VT originated from the epicardium.
Methods: Six patients who underwent a surgical left lateral thoracotomy epicardial access for catheter ablation of VT after failed subxiphoid percutaneous epicardial access were reviewed.

Malignant pheochromocytoma is exactly diagnosed only upon the occurrence of metastatic foci. At that point, however, patients are less likely to experience many benefits from traditional chemotherapy. Therefore, a strategy worthy of consideration is inhibition or delay of metastasis with drugs.

Background: Large temporal plexiform neurofibroma (PNF) is an irritating problem that causes facial disfigurement. Surgical resection of PNF is the only effective way to remove the tumor as well as to improve the patient's facial appearance. However, temporal branch of the facial nerve (TBFN) in the tumor is prone to be destroyed during PNF removal.

Dasatinib-based therapy is often used as a second-line therapeutic strategy for imatinib-resistance gastrointestinal stromal tumors (GISTs); however, acquired aberrant activation of dasatinib target proteins, such as c-KIT and PDGFRβ, attenuates the therapeutic efficiency of dasatinib. Combination therapy which inhibits the activation of dasatinib target proteins may enhance the cytotoxicity of dasatinib in GISTs. Bortezomib, a proteasome inhibitor, significantly inhibited cell viability and promoted apoptosis of dasatinib-treated GIST-T1 cells, whereas GIST-T1 cells showed little dasatinib cytotoxicity when treated with dasatinib alone, as the upregulation of c-KIT caused by dasatinib itself interfered with the inhibition of c-KIT and PDGFRβ phosphorylation by dasatinib.

Background: The chromodomain helicase/adenosine triphosphatase DNA binding protein 1-like gene (CHD1L) is a recently identified oncogene localized at 1q21. CHD1L protein over-expression in primary hepatocellular carcinoma is correlated with enhanced apoptosis inhibition, reduced chemosensitivity and shortened patient survival. However, CHD1L protein status or mRNA expression in breast cancer and its clinical significance remain obscure.

Hypertrophic cardiomyopathy (HCM), characterized by myocardial hypertrophy, is the most common cause of sudden cardiac arrest in young individuals. More than 270 mutations have been found to be responsible for familial HCM to date; mutations in MYH7, which encodes the β-myosin heavy chain (β-MHC) and MYBPC3, which encodes the myosin binding protein C, are seen most often. This study aimed to screen a pathogenic mutation causing HCM in a large family and assess its possible impact on the function of the specific protein.
