Background: Energy metabolism disorders and neurogenic inflammation play important roles in the central sensitization to chronic migraine (CM). AMP-activated protein kinase (AMPK) is an intracellular energy sensor, and its activation regulates inflammation and reduces neuropathic pain. However, studies on the involvement of AMPK in the regulation of CM are currently lacking.

Nr4a1 enhances Wnt4 transcription to promote mesenchymal stem cell osteogenesis and alleviates inflammation-inhibited bone regeneration.

Division of Spine Surgery, Department of Orthopaedics, Nanfang Hospital, Southern Medical University, Guangzhou, Guangdong 510515, China. Electronic address:

Intense inflammatory response impairs bone marrow mesenchymal stem cell (BMSC)-mediated bone regeneration, with transforming growth factor (TGF)-β1 being the most highly expressed cytokine. However, how to find effective and safe means to improve bone formation impaired by excessive TGF-β1 remains unclear. In this study, we found that the expression of orphan nuclear receptor Nr4a1, an endogenous repressor of TGF-β1, was suppressed directly by TGF-β1-induced Smad3 and indirectly by Hdac4, respectively.

Background: Colorectal cancer is the third most prevalent malignancy globally and ranks second in cancer-related mortality, with the liver being the primary organ of metastasis. Preoperative chemotherapy is widely recommended for initially or potentially resectable colorectal liver metastases (CRLMs). Tumour pathological response serves as the most important and intuitive indicator for assessing the efficacy of chemotherapy.

Background: Metagenomic next-generation sequencing (mNGS) demonstrates great promise as a diagnostic tool for determining the cause of pathogenic infections. The standard diagnostic procedures (SDP) include smears and cultures and are typically viewed as less sensitive and more time-consuming when compared to mNGS. There are concerns about the logistics and ease of transition from SDP to mNGS.

Acute kidney injury (AKI) is a clinical syndrome characterized by a sudden and continuous decline in renal function. The drug cisplatin is commonly used as chemotherapy for solid tumors, and cisplatin-induced acute kidney injury (CI-AKI), which is characterized by acute tubular necrosis and inflammation, frequently occurs in tumor patients. Renal tubular epithelial cells (RTECs) are severely damaged early in this process and play an important role in renal tubular injury and the recruitment of immune cells.
