Background: The objective of this study is to investigate the potential association between change in body composition before and after cetuximab-based therapy and the prognostic outcomes among individuals diagnosed with advanced colorectal cancer.

Methods: A retrospective analysis was undertaken on a cohort of 81 patients diagnosed with RAS wild-type (WT) metastatic colorectal cancer (mCRC) who were treated with cetuximab-based first-line therapy. To assess relevant body composition parameters, quantitative computed tomography (QCT) scans were conducted both before and after cetuximab treatment.

Association of dietary inflammatory index and systemic inflammatory markers with mortality risk in depressed adults: a mediation analysis of NHANES data.

Background: Previous research has linked systemic inflammatory markers and the Dietary Inflammatory Index (DII) with depression. However, the relationship between DII and these markers, and their impact on mortality risk among depressed adults, remains underexplored. This study aims to explore the association between DII and systemic inflammatory markers and their mediating effect on mortality risk in adults with depression.

[Correlation between inflammatory factors in gingival crevicular fluid and implant stability after oral implant restoration].

Purpose: To study the correlation between the levels of inflammatory factors in gingival crevicular fluid and implant stability and prognosis after oral implant restoration.

Methods: A total of 78 patients who underwent oral implant restoration surgery from August 2022 to August 2023 were selected as the experimental group. According to the results of X-ray examination 1 month after implantation, the patients were divided into poor prognosis subgroup(n=33) and good prognosis subgroup(n=45), another 60 healthy subjects who underwent physical examination during the same period were selected as the control group.

HK-2 cells were treated with 150 μmol/L palmitate to induce mitochondrial dysfunction and oxidative stress, and they were co-treated with 2 μmol/L DAPA for 24 h.

By evaluating the index, we can better anticipate and assess the risk and prognosis of CVD patients, and provide precise and individualized guidance for clinical treatment and management. Demographic and clinical data of 2185 CVD patients from 10 cycles of the National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey database from 1999 to 2018 were extracted for analysis.

In this editorial, we comment on the article ( 2024; 16: 1236-1247), which is a retrospective study of transarterial chemoembolization (TACE) combined with multi-targeted tyrosine kinase inhibitor (TKI) and programmed cell death protein-1 (PD-1) inhibitor for the treatment of unresectable hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC). Herein, we focus specifically on the mechanisms of this triple therapy, administration sequence and selection of each medication, and implications for future clinical trials. Based on the interaction mechanisms between medications, the triple therapy of TACE + TKI + PD-1 is proposed to complement the deficiency of each monotherapy, and achieve synergistic antitumor effects.

Objective: The present study sought to evaluate the relationship between age-related cataracts, a prevalent ocular condition among the elderly, and the occurrence of depressive symptoms within a cohort of Chinese adults residing in Anhui, China.

Methods: A survey involving 252 Chinese individuals aged 65 years and older was conducted at Lu'an People's Hospital. Depressive symptoms were assessed using the Hamilton Depression Scale (HAMD) consisting of 17 items, while age-related cataracts were clinically classified according to the Lens Opacities Classification System (LOCS) III.

To explore the clinical effects of two kinds of nasal bone reductors used for shortened and displaced overlapping external nasal fracture reduction under nasal endoscopy and the impact on ventilation function. From January 2020 to February 2022, 82 patients with shortened and displaced overlapping external nasal fractures diagnosed and treated in the Department of Otolaryngology, the Second People's Hospital of Hefei were collected as the study subjects. The patients were divided into control group（41 cases） and observation group（41 cases） by random number table method.

Purpose: To assess the efficacy of ultrasound-assisted reduction in the conservative management of completely displaced pediatric distal radius fractures.

Methods: The efficacy of ultrasound-assisted reduction versus conventional reduction was compared in a single-centre, retrospective, cross-sectional study involving 51 consecutive paediatric patients with completely displaced distal radius fractures, following manual reduction, from May 2021 to May 2023. The study group received ultrasound-assisted reduction (n = 24), while the control group underwent conventional blind manual reduction (n = 27).
