Cardiac sarcomas are rare, aggressive malignancies originating from various cardiac cell types, presenting significant challenges in both diagnosis and treatment. This comprehensive review explores recent advancements in diagnosis and treatment of cardiac angiosarcoma, fibrosarcoma, leiomyosarcoma, and rhabdomyosarcoma. And we briefly discuss the exceedingly rare occurrence of cardiac osteosarcoma and present our perspectives on its treatment.

Rotator cuff tendon injuries often lead to shoulder pain and dysfunction. Traditional treatments such as surgery and physical therapy can provide temporary relief, but it is difficult to achieve complete healing of the tendon, mainly because of the limited repair capacity of the tendon cells. Therefore, it is particularly urgent to explore new treatment methods.

Triple-negative breast cancer (TNBC) is a type of breast cancer with lack the expression of estrogen receptor (ER), progesterone receptor (PR), and human epidermal growth factor receptor 2 (HER2). It is the most aggressive breast cancer and the most difficult to treat due to its poor response to treatments and extremely invasive characteristics. The typical treatment for TNBC frequently results in relapse because of the lack of particular treatment choices.

Background: To study the relationship between the monocyte/high-density lipoprotein cholesterol ratio (MHR) and neutrophil-to-lymphocyte ratio (NLR) and coronary artery stenosis in Non-st-elevation acute coronary syndromes (NSTE-ACS) patients of different genders.
Methods: A total of 253 control and 800 NSTE-ACS patients were included, and clinic data (29 items) were also collected. NSTE-ACS patients were divided into low-risk (0-23) and high-risk (≥ 23) groups based on the Synergy between PCI with Taxus and Cardiac Surgery (SYNTAX) score.

Background: With the rising diagnostic rate of gallbladder polypoid lesions (GPLs), differentiating benign cholesterol polyps from gallbladder adenomas with a higher preoperative malignancy risk is crucial. This study aimed to establish a preoperative prediction model capable of accurately distinguishing between gallbladder adenomas and cholesterol polyps using machine learning algorithms.
Materials And Methods: We retrospectively analysed the patients' clinical baseline data, serological indicators, and ultrasound imaging data.

Metabolic reprogramming, the shifting from fatty acid oxidation to glucose utilization, improves cardiac function as heart failure (HF) progresses. Leptin plays an essential role in regulating glucose metabolism. However, the crosstalk between leptin and metabolic reprogramming is poorly understood.

Dyslipidemia affects approximately half of all people with gout, and prior Mendelian randomization analysis suggested a causal role for elevated triglycerides in hyperuricemia (HU), but the underlying mechanisms remain elusive. We hypothesize that dyslipidemia promotes hepatic urate biosynthesis in HU and gout and fatty acid (FA) oxidation (FAO) drives this process. Here we developed a targeted metabolomics to quantify major metabolites in purine metabolic pathway in the sera of a human cohort with HU, gout, and normaluricemic controls.

The use of mesh repair is a frequently employed technique in the clinical management of abdominal wall defects. However, for intraperitoneal onlay mesh (IPOM), the traditional mesh requires additional fixation methods, and these severely limit its application in the repair of abdominal wall defects. We drew inspiration from the adhesion properties of mussels for the present study, functionalized carboxymethyl cellulose (CMC) with dopamine (DA), and added polyvinyl alcohol (PVA) to the composite to further improve the wet adhesive ability of hydrogels.

Emphysematous pyelonephritis (EPN) is a rare but severe necrotizing infection often associated with diabetes, ureteral obstruction, and gas production in the renal parenchyma and perinephric area. This report describes a 54-year-old man with type 2 diabetes who presented with right lumbar pain and was diagnosed with EPN complicated by right ureteral calculi and perinephric gas accumulation. Despite initial improvement with fluid resuscitation, antibiotics, and drainage, inadequate blood glucose control led to a worsening of the infection, eventually involving the psoas major muscle and iliac vessels.

Background: Recent studies show that M1 macrophages accumulate predominantly in non-eosinophilic chronic rhinosinusitis with nasal polyps (neCRSwNP). However, the precise mechanisms regulating M1 macrophages and their impact on the epithelial barrier remain unclear.
Objective: We aim to investigate the expression and regulatory role of SLAMF8, a molecule exclusively expressed in myeloid cells, in M1 macrophage polarization and its potential contribution to neCRSwNP development.

Background: Pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma (PDAC) is one of the most lethal diseases. Although several chemotherapy regimens have been developed over the past decades, few targeted therapies have shown a significant improvement in overall survival, partly due to the identification of PDAC as a single disease.
Methods: Combining metabolomic analysis and immunohistochemistry staining with Oil Red O staining, analysis for the oxygen consumption rate and extracellular acidification rate, we stratified pancreatic cancer cells into two subtypes.

Introduction: Bacterial infection, a complex wound microenvironment, and a persistent inflammatory response in acute wounds can result in delayed healing and abnormal scar formation, thereby compromising the normal function and aesthetic appearance of skin tissue. This issue represents one of the most challenging problems in clinical practice. This study aims to develop a hydrogel dressing specifically designed for the treatment of acute wounds, providing immediate and effective protection for the affected areas.

Well-designed artificial scaffolds are urgently needed due to the limited self-repair capacity of bone, which hampers effective regeneration in critical defects. Optimal scaffolds must provide physical guidance to recruit cells and immune regulation to improve the regenerative microenvironment. This study presents a novel scaffold composed of dual-sided centripetal microgrooved poly(D,L-lactide-co-caprolactone) (PLCL) film combined with a dynamic hydrogel containing prednisolone (PLS)-loaded Prussian blue nanoparticles (PB@PLS).

Turning to critical illness is a common stage of various diseases and injuries before death. Patients usually have complex health conditions, while the treatment process involves a wide range of content, along with high requirements for doctor's professionalism and multi-specialty teamwork, as well as a great demand for time-sensitive treatments. However, this is not matched with critical care professionals and the current state of medical care in China.

Ketone bodies generated in hepatocytes in the adult liver are used for nonhepatic tissues as an energy source. However, ketolysis is reactivated in hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) cells with largely unelucidated mechanisms. Here, we demonstrate that 3-oxoacid CoA-transferase 1 (OXCT1), a rate-limiting enzyme in ketolysis, interacts with SUCLA2 upon IGF1 stimulation in HCC cells.

Among patients with colorectal cancer (CRC), metastasis accounts for the majority of deaths, and epithelial-mesenchymal transition (EMT) is important in the metastatic process. However, the mechanism underlying the correlation between the two in CRC is unknown. Here, we verified that a receptor-independent protein, G-protein signaling modulator 1 (GPSM1), was increased in CRC and had a significant positive correlation with matrix metalloproteinase 19 (MMP19).
