This study used meta-analysis to examine the role of baseline absolute lymphocyte count (ALC) in the prognosis of advanced breast cancer (ABC) or metastatic breast cancer (MBC). A comprehensive search encompassing PubMed, The Cochrane Library, Embase, and Web of Science databases was undertaken to identify and screen literature based on predefined inclusion and exclusion criteria. Progression-free survival (PFS), time to treatment failure (TTF), post-progression survival (PPS), and overall survival (OS) were selected as outcome measures.

Intellectual disability (ID) is a kind of nervous developmental disorder and affects more than 1% of people worldwide. SLC45A1 as a transmembrane protein is implicated in the regulation of glucose homoeostasis. Through trio-based exome sequencing, the missense mutations of SLC45A1 c.

Axillary staging is commonly performed via sentinel lymph node biopsy for patients with early breast cancer (EBC) presenting with clinically negative axillary lymph nodes (cN0). The present study aimed to investigate the association between axillary lymph node metastasis (ALNM), clinicopathological characteristics of tumors and results from axillary ultrasound (US) scanning. Moreover, a nomogram model was developed to predict the risk for ALNM based on relevant factors.

Introduction: Chemotherapy is still the treatment of choice for advanced triple-negative breast cancer. Chemotherapy combined with immunotherapy is being tried in patients with triple-negative breast cancer. As a kind of "cold tumor", triple-negative breast cancer has a bottleneck in immunotherapy.

Background: The pathogenic mutation of short stature homeobox (SHOX) gene is one of the main genetic causes of short stature in children, with an incidence rate of 1/1000~1/2000 and the main clinical manifestations are short stature and (or) limb skeletal abnormalities. SHOX gene mutations are mostly large deletions of regulatory sequence genes, while exon mutations are relatively rare. The pathogenic rate of mutations occurring in exon 5 is only 1/50 000~1/100 000.

Further adjuvant chemotherapy treatment can provide benefits to certain patients with triple-negative breast cancer (TNBC) that fail to achieve pathological complete response (pCR) after the administration of a neoadjuvant chemotherapy (NAC) regimen. However, biomarkers suitable for identifying patients likely to experience poor prognostic outcomes after undergoing additional adjuvant chemotherapy are currently lacking. Accordingly, the present meta-analysis was conducted to explore the relationship between tumor-infiltrating lymphocytes (TILs) or TIL subtypes (CD4 or CD8) in residual tumor (RT) tissue following NAC and TNBC patient prognosis.

Resistant starch (RS) has become a popular topic of research in recent years. Most scholars believe that there are 5 types of RS. However, accumulating evidence indicates that in addition to starch-lipid complexes, which are the fifth type of RS, complexes containing starch and other substances can also be generated.

Purpose: We conducted a systematic literature search and pooled data from studies to compare the incidence of complications between the tumescent and non-tumescent techniques for mastectomy.

Methods: We searched PubMed, Embase, BioMed Central, Ovid, and CENTRAL databases for studies comparing the two mastectomy techniques up to November 1, 2020. We used a random-effects model to calculate odds ratios (OR) with 95% confidence intervals (CI).

Norepinephrine is considered as a potential alternative for blood pressure stabilization during spinal anesthesia for cesarean delivery, as it maintains a better maternal heart rate and cardiac output compared with phenylephrine. However, its use as a bolus dose for hypotension treatment remains largely unexplored. Therefore, the present study investigated the ED and ED of norepinephrine as a bolus for maternal hypotension during cesarean delivery.

The documents on the median effective concentration of local analgesic were many in primiparas during labor analgesia. However, the studies were fewer in multiparas. To explore the analgesic requirements in multiparas during epidural labor analgesia, we investigated the median effective concentration of ropivacaine with 2 μg/mL fentanyl for epidural labor analgesia in multiparas.

Background: Thoracotomy is frequently accompanied with moderate-to-severe postoperative pain, and excellent pain management is important for early rehabilitation. The purpose of this study is to investigate the effects of dexmedetomidine combined with ropivacaine for epidural analgesia after thoracotomy.

Methods: One hundred and thirty patients undergoing elective lung lobectomy were enrolled in the double-blind study and randomly divided into two groups.

Background: It was reported that epidural volume extension could decrease the ED of intrathecal plain bupivacaine. In this study, we investigated the ED of intrathecal hyperbaric ropivacaine followed by epidural normal saline bolus for cesarean section.

Methods: Sixty parturients were allocated into two groups in this prospective study.

Background: Magnesium sulfate (MgSO) is the standard therapy for the treatment of preeclampsia and prevention of eclamptic seizures in labor. This study aimed to determine the effect of the magnesium administered intravenously as a bolus prior to spinal anesthesia on the speed of onset and duration of the spinal anesthesia in preeclamptic women.

Methods: Sixty women undergoing caesarean section were randomly divided into the MgSO group and the control group.

Background: It has been reported that the optimal concentration of epidural dexmedetomidine for labor analgesia is 0.5 μg/mL when combined with 0.1% ropivacaine.

Background: Studies have reported that prophylactic continuous infusion of phenylephrine during spinal anesthesia for cesarean section can decrease the spread of local anesthetics. We investigated the ED50 of intrathecal hyperbaric ropivacaine in parturient women undergoing cesarean section under prophylactic infusion of phenylephrine.

Methods: Sixty parturient women were allocated into 2 groups in this prospective study.

Background: Dexmedetomidine combined with local anesthetics can decrease the concentration of epidural ropivacaine. However, the optimal dose of epidural dexmedetomidine combined with ropivacaine for labor analgesia is still uncertain. This study investigated the effect of adding different dose of epidural dexmedetomidine to ropivacaine during epidural labor analgesia.
