Purpose: Although intensity-modulated radiotherapy (IMRT) is now a preferred option for conventionally fractionated RT in lung cancer, the commonly used cutoff values of the dosimetric constraints are still mainly derived from the data using three-dimensional conformal radiotherapy (3D-CRT). We aimed to compare the prediction performance among different dosimetric parameters for acute radiation pneumonitis (RP) in patients with lung cancer received IMRT.

Methods: A total of 236 patients treated with IMRT were retrospectively reviewed in two independent groups of lung cancer from January 2014 to August 2018.

Recent studies suggest that Elevated O-GlcNAcylation by increased O-GlcNAc transferase (OGT) and/or decreasing O-GlcNAcase (OGA) levels is associated with cancer initiation, progression, invasion, and metastasis. However, the function of OGT in colon cancer tumorigeneses remains unclear. Here, we showed OGT expression is elevated in human colon cancer tissue compared with adjacent normal tissue, and cases with higher OGT expression had shorter survival time.

Background: Acute myocardial infarction (AMI) is an acute disease with high mortality and seriously threatens human health. The identification of new effective biological markers for AMI is a prerequisite for treatment. Most proteomic studies have focused on atherosclerotic plaques, vascular cells, monocytes and platelets in the blood; however, the concentration of these factors in plasma is low, making it difficult to measure the complexity of plasma components.

An fluorescent aptasensor for sensitive detection of tumor marker based on the FRET of a sandwich structured QDs-AFP-AuNPs.

Talanta

May 2019

State Key Laboratory for Diagnosis and Infectious Diseases, The First Affiliated Hospital, College of Medicine, Zhejiang University, Hangzhou 310003, Zhejiang, China. Electronic address:

The detection of alpha-fetoprotein (AFP) is of great importance for hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) diagnosis, but it needs to be further improved because of poor sensitivity and complicated operating steps. In this paper, a simple and sensitive homogeneous apatasensor for AFP has been developed based on Förster resonance energy transfer (FRET) where the AFP aptamer labeled luminescent CdTe quantum dots (QDs) as a donor and anti-AFP antibody functional gold nanoparticles (AuNPs) as an acceptor. In the presence of AFP, the bio-affinity between aptamer, target, and antibody made the QDs and AuNPs close enough, thus the fluorescence of CdTe QDs quenched though the FRET between QD and AuNP.

MiR-542-3p controls hepatic stellate cell activation and fibrosis via targeting BMP-7.

J Cell Biochem

March 2019

Department of Gastroenterology, The First Affiliated Hospital, College of Medicine, Zhejiang University, Hangzhou, China.

There has been an increasing number of studies about microRNAs as key regulators in the development of hepatic fibrosis. Here, we demonstrate that miR-542-3p can promote hepatic fibrosis by downregulating the expression of bone morphogenetic protein 7 (BMP-7), which is known to antagonize transforming growth factor β1 (TGFβ1)-mediated fibrogenesis effect. The expression of miR-542-3p is increased in activated hepatic stellate cells (HSCs).
