Background: To evaluate the diagnostic value of exfoliated tumor cells (ETCs) numbers combined with DNA methylation levels in bronchoalveolar lavage fluid (BALF) in lung cancer.

Methods: BALF samples were collected from 43 patients with lung cancer and 23 with benign lung disease. ETCs were detected by the nano-enrichment method, and the methylation status of the short stature homeobox gene 2 (SHOX2) and the RAS association domain family 1, isoform A (RASSF1A) gene were detected by RT-PCR.

To investigate the function of histone-lysine N-methyltransferase 2D (KMT2D) on the methylation of H3 lysine 4 (H3K4) in the progression of Ovarian cancer (OV). KMT2D, ESR1 and H3K4me expressions in surgical resected tumors and tumor adjacent tissues of OV from 198 patients were determined using immunohistochemistry (IHC). Human OV cell lines including SKOV3, HO-8910 cells and normal ovarian epithelial cell line IOSE80 were employed for in vitro experiment, and BALB/C female nude mice were used for in vivo study.

Lung squamous cell carcinoma (LSCC) is one of the primary types of non‑small cell lung carcinoma, and patients with recurrent LSCC usually have a poor prognosis. The present study was conducted to build a risk score (RS) system for LSCC. Methylation data on LSCC (training set) and on head and neck squamous cell carcinoma (validation set 2) were obtained from The Cancer Genome Atlas database, and GSE39279 (validation set 1) was retrieved from the Gene Expression Omnibus database.

Background: Umbilical cord-derived mesenchymal stem cell (UCMSCs) transplantation has been widely studied in premature ovarian failure (POF). However, the underlying mechanism remains elusive. This study aims to investigate the protective properties and mechanisms of heme oxygenase-1 (HO-1) expressed in UCMSCs in restoring the ovarian function of POF mice.

Background: Early detection of urothelial carcinoma (UC) by noninvasive diagnostic methods with high accuracy is still underscored. This study aimed to develop a noninvasive assay incorporating both enrichment of urine exfoliated cells and immunoassays for UC detection.

Methods: Polystyrene dishes were exposed to oxygen plasma and modified with 3-aminopropyltriethoxysilane to prepare amine-functionalized nanostructured substrates (NS).

Circulating tumor cells (CTCs) are an independent prognostic marker in non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC). CTC numbers are closely related to early diagnosis, clinical stage, therapy surveillance, and prognosis of NSCLC. We used a more efficient nano-enrichment method to detect CTCs in NSCLC patients and explored the clinical value of CTCs.

Our study aims to evaluate the efficacy of transcatheter arterial chemoembolization in the treatment of patients with liver metastasis using integrated F-fluorodeoxyglucose positron emission tomography/computed tomography. A total of 97 liver metastasis patients treated by transcatheter arterial chemoembolization were enrolled in this study. The F-fluorodeoxyglucose positron emission tomography/computed tomography images of liver metastasis patients were collected before and after transcatheter arterial chemoembolization treatment.

Aim: This study aimed to analyze the expression, clinical significance of stanniocalcin 2 in cervical carcinoma patients who were treated with radiotherapy.

Methods: Stanniocalcin 2 expression was determined by real-time PCR in 10 pairs of cervical cancer and adjacent normal cervical tissues. Tumor samples from 92 patients diagnosed from 2004 to 2007 were studied.
