Background: No specific triglyceride-lowering therapy is recommended in patients with hypertriglyceridemia-associated acute pancreatitis (HTG-AP), primarily because of the lack of quality evidence. This study aimed to describe practice variations in triglyceride-lowering therapies for early HTG-AP patients and assess whether more rapid triglyceride decline is associated with improving organ failure.
Methods: This is a multicentre, prospective cohort study recruiting HTG-AP patients with elevated plasma triglyceride (> 11.

Background: Recent research underscores the pivotal role of immune checkpoints as biomarkers in colorectal cancer (CRC) therapy, highlighting the dynamics of resistance and response to immune checkpoint inhibitors. The impact of epigenetic alterations in CRC, particularly in relation to immune therapy resistance, is not fully understood.
Methods: We integrated a comprehensive dataset encompassing TCGA-COAD, TCGA-READ, and multiple GEO series (GSE14333, GSE37892, GSE41258), along with key epigenetic datasets (TCGA-COAD, TCGA-READ, GSE77718).

Essential hypertension is a notable threat for the older (age, ≥65 years) population. However, to the best of our knowledge, a real-world study assessing olmesartan medoxomil-amlodipine besylate (OM-AML) tablets in older Chinese patients with essential hypertension has not been performed. Therefore, the present study aimed to evaluate the efficacy and safety of OM-AML tablets in these patients.

Background: Radical resection offers the only hope for the long-term survival of patients with gallbladder carcinoma (GBC) above the T1b stage. However, whether it should be performed under laparoscopy for GBC is still controversial.
Aim: To compare laparoscopic radical resection (LRR) with traditional open radical resection (ORR) in managing GBC.

There lacks real-world study with a large sample size assessing olmesartan medoxomil-amlodipine besylate (OM-AML) tablet. Therefore, this study aimed to evaluate the efficacy and safety of OM-AML tablet in patients with essential hypertension. Totally, 1341 patients from 36 medical centers with essential hypertension who took OM-AML (20/5 mg) tablet were analyzed in the current prospective, single-arm, multi-center, real-world study (SVK study).

Background: Hepatic immune tolerance might contribute to the development of therapeutic resistance to immunotherapy. However, addressing this issue is challenging since the efficacy of immunotherapy in the context of liver metastasis (LM) remains poorly studied. Here, we aimed to establish an LM common immune feature (LMCIF) score to quantify the characteristics of LM immunotolerance across cancer types for assisting clinical disease management.

Importance: The incidence of hypertriglyceridemia-associated acute pancreatitis (HTG-AP) is increasing. Plasmapheresis is theoretically effective in removing triglyceride from plasma, but whether it confers clinical benefits is unclear.
Objective: To assess the association between plasmapheresis and the incidence and duration of organ failure among patients with HTG-AP.

The purpose of this research is to develop a predictive model based on necroptosis-related genes to predict the prognosis and survival of lower grade gliomas (LGGs) efficiently. To achieve this goal, we searched for differentially expressed necrotizing apoptosis-related genes using the TCGA and CGGA databases. To construct a prognostic model, LASSO Cox and COX regression analyses were conducted on the differentially expressed genes.

During the initial stages of gastrulation during embryonic differentiation and wound healing, Cripto-1 is a critical protein for human growth. The epithelial adhesion molecules' downregulation, the mesenchymal overexpression, and mobile proteins are important mechanisms by which Cripto-1 initiates epithelial to mesenchymal transition (EMT). As a result, the function of Cripto-1 for inducing EMT to increase cell migration is advantageous during embryogenesis; however, it is deleterious during the formation, growth, and malignant tumor metastasis.

Backgrounds: Pyroptosis, a newly pattern of specific programmed cell death, has been reported to participate in several cancers. However, the value of pyroptosis in breast cancer (BRCA) is still not clear.
Methods: Herein, we analyzed the data of BRCA from both The Cancer Genome Atlas (TCGA) and GSEA MSigDB database.

Background: N6-methyladenosine (mA) RNA methylation plays a critical role in key genetic events for various cancers; yet, how mA functions within the tumor microenvironment (TME) remains to be elucidated.
Methods: A total of 65,362 single cells from single-cell RNA-seq data derived from 33 CRC tumor samples were analyzed by nonnegative matrix factorization (NMF) for 23 mA RNA methylation regulators. CRC and Immunotherapy cohorts from public repository were used to determine the prognosis and immune response of TME clusters.

Accumulated studies showed that the clinical significance of aging on the development and malignancy of tumors, while the relationship between aging and the prognosis, immune response in triple-negative breast cancer (TNBC) has not been well clarified. Here, we constructed a risk model of 10 prognostic aging-related genes (ARGs) from METABRIC database. Then, TNBC patients were classified into high- and low-risk groups, the survival diversity, immune response, genomic function, and tumor mutation burden (TMB) between different risk groups were explored in METABRIC, TCGA, and GSE58812 cohorts.

Ultrasound (US), as a safe and non-invasive tool, has drawn researchers' attention to treat pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma (PDAC). Piezo1, a mechanosensitive channel, can be activated by various mechanical stimuli. In this study, we tested the expression of Piezo1 in PDAC cell lines and tissues, and cell apoptosis and with siRNA, a lentivirus system, and a subcutaneous xenograft tumor-bearing model under the condition of US with microbubbles (MBs).

Acute pancreatitis (AP) is a potentially life-threatening inflammatory disease with multiple etiologies. The prevalence of hypertriglyceridemia-induced acute pancreatitis (HTG-AP) has been increasing in recent years. It is reported that early triglyceride (TG) levels were associated with the severity of the disease, and TG- lowering therapies, including medical treatment and blood purification, may impact the clinical outcomes.

Traumatic spinal cord injury (SCI) can result in severe disability and causes a considerable socio-economic burden worldwide. Circular RNAs (circRNAs) are important regulators of gene expression and pathological processes, and may represent therapeutic targets for SCI. To further evaluate the role of circRNAs in SCI, we elucidated circRNA expression profiles related to vascular endothelial proliferation, migration, and angiogenesis during the early stages of secondary injury in a mouse model of SCI.

An abdominal aortic aneurysm (AAA) is a localized dilatation of the aorta related to the regional weakening of the wall structure, resulting in substantial morbidity and mortality with the aortic ruptures as complications. Ruptured AAA is a dramatic catastrophe, and aortic emergencies constitute one of the leading causes of acute death in older adults. AAA management has been centered on surgical repair of larger aneurysms to mitigate the risks of rupture, and curative early diagnosis and effective pharmacological treatments for this condition are still lacking.

T cells participate in the repair process and immune response in the CNS post-traumatic injury and play both a beneficial and harmful role. Together with nerve cells and other immune cells, they form a microenvironment in the CNS post-traumatic injury. The repair of traumatic CNS injury is a long-term process.

: Hereditary protein S deficiency is an autosomal dominant disorder associated with a high risk of venous thromboembolism (VTE) and usually results from mutations of PROS1. Historically heparin and warfarin have been applied as recommended treatment of VTE. Recent researches showed that rivaroxaban provided more consistent and predictable anticoagulation than warfarin.

The lungs are the second most common site of metastasis for colorectal cancer (CRC) after the liver. Rectal cancer is associated with a higher incidence of lung metastases compared to colon cancer. In China, the proportion of rectal cancer cases is around 50%, much higher than that in Western countries (nearly 30%).
