After gain- and loss-of-function assays and transforming growth factor (TGF)-β stimulation in astrocytes, the cell viability, proliferation, and apoptosis were examined. The expression of miR-143, SIRT2, and PLAUR and levels of astrocyte-related glial fibrillary acidic protein (GFAP), Vimentin, chondroitin sulfate proteoglycan (CSPG), and connective tissue growth factor (CTGF) were also measured.

This study aimed to explore the prognostic implication of N-terminal pro-brain natriuretic peptide (NT-proBNP) burden on heart failure (HF) with reduced ejection fraction (HFrEF). We performed a post hoc analysis of the GUIDing Evidence Based Therapy Using Biomarker Intensified Treatment in Heart Failure (GUIDE-IT) trial. Objective: We present our initial experience using the microcatheter-guided compartment packing (MCP) technique for endovascular embolization of acutely ruptured complex intracerebral aneurysms (ARCIAs) and evaluate the safety, feasibility, and efficiency of this technique.

Methods: This retrospective, single-center study included 28 patients who underwent coil embolization using the MCP technique for ARCIAs at our institution between January 2021 and January 2022. The MCP technique was the placement of microcatheters in different compartments within the aneurysm to deploy the coils simultaneously or sequentially.

Objective: Mingmu Dihuang Pill (MMDHP) is a traditional Chinese formula that has shown remarkable improvements of dry eyes, tearing, and blurry vision; however, the mechanisms underlying MMDHP treatment for diabetic retinopathy have not been fully understood. This study is aimed at identifying the molecular targets and active ingredients of MMDHP for the treatment of diabetic retinopathy based on network pharmacology.

Background: Obesity is a well-defined risk factor for heart failure with preserved ejection fraction (HFpEF), but it is associated with a better prognosis in patients with diagnosed HFpEF. The paradoxically poor prognosis in nonobese patients with HFpEF may be driven by a subset of high-risk patients, which suggests that the nonobese HFpEF subpopulation is heterogeneous.

A model to guide the management and decision of re-planning during radiotherapy for cervical cancer.

Background: To establish a model to predict whether re-planning is needed in the process of cervical cancer radiotherapy.

Methods: We collected the clinical indexes of 132 patients diagnosed with cervical cancer receiving concurrent chemotherapy and radiotherapy, including 33 factors about tumor markers [carcinoembryonic antigen (CEA), cancer antigen 125 (CA-125), squamous cell carcinoma antigen (SCC)], tumor volume, rectal volume, bladder volume, volumes receiving 30-50 Gy in organs-at-risk (OARs), and the maximum dose (Dmax) received by 1-2 cc in OARs. We established a multivariate model for re-planning evaluation via principal component analysis, and then verified the model based on the internal data.

Long non-coding (lnc)RNA ABHD11-AS1 participates in the development and progress of various cancers, but its role in colorectal cancer (CRC) remains poorly known. In the present study, public database analysis and quantitative reverse transcription PCR of CRC and normal tissues showed that ABHD11-AS1 was overexpressed in CRC and associated with poor prognosis in CRC patients. Both and experiments demonstrated that loss-of-function of ABHD11-AS1 attenuated the proliferation, migration, and invasion of CRC cells and induced their apoptosis.
