Risk factors for invasive fungal infections in patients with connective tissue disease: Systematic review and meta-analysis.

Objective: Invasive fungal infections (IFIs) are life-threatening opportunistic infections in patients with connective tissue disease CTD) that cause significant morbidity and mortality. We attempted to determine the potential risk factors associated with IFIs in CTD.

The temperature-sensitive magnetic ionic liquid aqueous biphasic system combined with HPLC was applied for the continuous enrichment and trace analysis of tetracycline antibiotics (TC) in bovine milk for the first time. High enrichment factors were achieved and the detection was highly sensitive.

Incidence, prevention, risk factors, and prediction of venous thromboembolism in Chinese patients after colorectal cancer surgery: a prospective, multicenter cohort study.

Background: Venous thromboembolism (VTE) is a common and serious complication after colorectal cancer (CRC) surgery. Few large-sample studies have reported VTE incidence and management status after CRC surgery in China. This study aimed to investigate the incidence and prevention of VTE in Chinese patients after CRC surgery, identify risk factors for developing VTE, and construct a new scoring system for clinical decision-making and care planning.

BACKGROUND Siewert type II adenocarcinoma of the esophagogastric junction is located at the boundary of the distal esophagus and gastric cardia, and surgical resection is currently performed using open or laparoscopic methods. This report presents 2 cases of laparoscopic resection of Siewert type II adenocarcinoma of the esophagogastric junction using a transhiatal approach, complicated by hemopericardium. CASE REPORT We present 2 patients diagnosed with Siewert type II esophagogastric junction cancer.

The number of robotic hiatal hernia repairs (RHHR) is increasing. However, the superiority of this minimally invasive approach remains controversial. Background: The effectiveness and safety of laparoscopic adrenalectomy (LA) under different routes for the treatment of large pheochromocytomas (PCCs) is unknown.

Materials And Methods: This meta-analysis and systematic review was performed according to PRISMA (Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses) and AMSTAR (Assessing the methodological quality of systematic reviews) Guidelines. Three databases were systematically searched, including Medline, PubMed, and Web of Science.

The prognosis difference between elderly and younger patients with adrenocortical carcinoma.

Adrenocortical carcinoma (ACC) is uncommon in the elderly. This study aimed to compare the surgical prognosis and survival between senior and younger patients. We also explored the factors that were independently related to the survival of elderly patients.

Objective: To compare the return to work (RTW) time between single-port laparoscopic surgery (SPLS) and multiport laparoscopic surgery (MPLS) for benign ovarian tumors.

Methods: A cross-sectional cohort study was conducted, which consisted of 335 women of reproductive age with benign ovarian tumors and who were keen on returning to work as early as possible. Surgical outcomes, postoperative pain score, postoperative satisfaction with the cosmesis score (CS), and the RTW time of the SPLS group were compared with those of the MPLS group.

Objective: Acoustic neuroma (AN) is a common benign tumor. Little is known of neuropsychological studies in patients with acoustic neuroma, especially cognitive neuropsychology, and the neuropsychological abnormalities of patients affect their life quality. The purpose of this study was to explore the changes in the cognitive function of patients with acoustic neuroma, and the possible mechanism of these changes by structural magnetic resonance imaging.

Multimodal ultrasound fusion network for differentiating between benign and malignant solid renal tumors.

We aim to establish a deep learning model called multimodal ultrasound fusion network (MUF-Net) based on gray-scale and contrast-enhanced ultrasound (CEUS) images for classifying benign and malignant solid renal tumors automatically and to compare the model's performance with the assessments by radiologists with different levels of experience. A retrospective study included the CEUS videos of 181 patients with solid renal tumors (81 benign and 100 malignant tumors) from June 2012 to June 2021. A total of 9794 B-mode and CEUS-mode images were cropped from the CEUS videos.

Application of spatial replacement method in the treatment of laparoscopic incarcerated femoral hernia - A case report.

Introduction: Incarcerated femoral hernia is a common surgical acute abdominal disease. Laparoscopic surgery is considered a safe and effective method for treating incarcerated femoral hernias, which have different surgical approaches to releasing the contents of the hernia.

Objective: To investigate the safety and feasibility of high intensity focused ultrasound (HIFU) ablation followed by ultrasound-guided dilation and curettage (USg-D&C) for two types patients with cesarean scar pregnancy (CSP-I and CSP-II).

Materials And Methods: This study was a retrospective analysis of 101 CSP-I patients and 52 CSP-II patients who received HIFU ablation followed by USg-D&C from Jun 2014 to Oct 2020. The diameter of gestational sac/mass, thickness of the intervening myometrium, intraoperative blood loss, operation time, length of hospital stays, adverse effects and β-HCG level in the two groups were compared.
