Aim: The aim of this study was to introduce the Esophagus-Sparing Anastomotic Narrowing Revision (ESANR) technique for the intraoperative management of anastomotic narrowing and to conduct a literature review to provide an algorithm for the management of narrowing and strictures that may develop secondary to esophagojejunostomy.
Methods: Three patients with anastomotic narrowing during esophagojejunostomy were analyzed between September 2019 and June 2024. The anastomotic narrowing was detected by intraoperative gastroscopy after reconstruction.

Introduction And Objectives: Despite tacrolimus (TAC) or mycophenolate mofetil (MMF) for alternate approaches, a proportion of patients still required further exploration of other therapeutic options due to uncontrolled autoimmune hepatitis(AIH). The role of cyclophosphamide (CYC) for AIH has been explored in isolated case reports and small series. We present a review of CYC therapy in AIH patients.

Objective: For patients with clinical nodal-negative (cN0) maxillary oral squamous cell carcinoma (MOSCC), neck dissection (ND) and clinical observation are the main two management strategies for the neck. However, the indications corresponding to these two options remain controversial. This study aimed to elucidate the clinical factors affecting ND treatment and to identify clinical characteristics of the population that may benefit from ND based on a retrospective analysis of cN0 MOSCC patient data from the Surveillance, Epidemiology, and End Results (SEER) database.

Background: Although ureteral stents are a well-established and commonly used method for renal drainage, the ureteral stent-related symptoms (SRSs) they cause in patients cannot be ignored. It is currently unclear whether mirabegron has a place in the treatment of SRSs. Our study aims to systematically evaluate the efficacy and safety of mirabegron in treating SRSs in adult patients.

Background: Postoperative anastomotic leakage (PAL) is a serious complication of gastric cancer surgery. Although perioperative management has made considerable progress, anastomotic leakage (AL) cannot always be avoided. The purpose of this study is to evaluate whether intraoperative leak testing (IOLT) can reduce the incidence of PAL and other postoperative outcomes in gastric cancer surgery.

Hemorrhagic stroke, specifically intracerebral hemorrhage (ICH), has been implicated in the development of persistent cognitive impairment, significantly compromising the quality of life for affected individuals. Nevertheless, the precise underlying mechanism remains elusive. Here, we report for the first time that the accumulation of iron within the hippocampus, distal to the site of ICH in the striatum, is causally linked to the observed cognitive impairment with both clinical patient data and animal model.

Objective: Postoperative staple line leakage (SLL) after sleeve gastrectomy (SG) is a rare but serious complication. Many surgeons routinely test anastomosis with an intraoperative leak test (IOLT) as part of the SG procedure. This meta-analysis aims to determine whether an IOLT plays a role in reducing the rate of postoperative staple line related complications in patients who underwent SG.
