Background: Hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) is a highly heterogeneous tumor, and the development of accurate predictive models for prognosis and drug sensitivity remains challenging.

Methods: We integrated laboratory data and public cohorts to conduct a multi-omics analysis of HCC, which included bulk RNA sequencing, proteomic analysis, single-cell RNA sequencing (scRNA-seq), spatial transcriptomics sequencing (ST-seq), and genome sequencing. We constructed a tumor purity (TP) and tumor microenvironment (TME) prognostic risk model.

Retinopathy in Parkinson's disease: A potential biomarker for early diagnosis and clinical assessment.

Parkinson's disease (PD) is a prevalent neurodegenerative disorder caused by degeneration of dopaminergic neurons, originating from the substantia nigra pars compacta, and characterized by motor symptoms such as bradykinesia, muscle rigidity, resting tremor, and postural instability, as well as non-motor symptoms such as anxiety, depression, reduced sense of smell, cognitive impairment, and visual dysfunction. Emerging evidence highlights the retina as a promising site for non-invasive exploration of PD pathology, due to its shared embryonic origin with the central nervous system. In recent years, with the development of ophthalmic technology, the acquisition of retinal-related function and structure has gradually become mature.

Genetic variants of LncRNAs HOTTIP and MEG3 influence nasopharyngeal carcinoma susceptibility and clinicopathologic characteristics in the Southern Chinese population.

Objective: Recent studies have indicated that HOTTIP and MEG3 are associated with the initiation and progression of various types of tumors, including nasopharyngeal carcinoma (NPC). This investigation aimed to elucidate the impact of HOTTIP and MEG3 polymorphisms on the susceptibility and clinicopathologic characteristics of NPC.

Methods: This research employed next-generation sequencing and multiplex PCR to assess the polymorphisms of HOTTIP rs1859168 and MEG3 rs7158663 in 200 NPC and 200 healthy individuals respectively.

However, no investigations have been conducted on whether mG-related miRNA (mG-miRNA) is a prognostic index of hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC). Therefore, this investigation aimed to establish a predictive mG-miRNA signature for efficient HCC prognosis and elucidate the associated immune cell infiltration (ICI) and functions in the tumor microenvironment.

Impact of NLRP3 gene polymorphisms (rs10754558 and rs10733113) on HPV infection and cervical cancer in southern Chinese population.

Objective: Mutations in the NLRP3gene have previously been linked to certain forms of cancer, but there have not been any specific studies examining the association between NLRP3 polymorphisms and cervical cancer (CC). This study was therefore designed to investigate the effect of NLRP3 gene polymorphisms on HPV infection and cervical cancer in southern Chinese population.

Methods: Multiplex PCR and next-generation sequencing approaches were used to assess the NLRP3 rs10754558 and rs10733113 polymorphisms in 404 cervical lesion patients, including 227 diagnosed with CC and 177 diagnosed with cervical intraepithelial neoplasia(CIN), with 419 healthy female controls being included for comparison.

Objectives: To compare the inter-modality consistency and diagnostic performances of the contrast-enhanced ultrasound (CEUS) Liver Imaging Reporting and Data System (LI-RADS) and contrast-enhanced computed tomography (CECT) LI-RADS in patients at risk for hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC), so as to help clinicians to select a more appropriate modality to follow the focal liver lesions (FLLs).

Differential expression of 2183 circRNAs was observed and their correlations with hematological parameters were investigated.

We explored the sleep, depression, and anxiety in NPC patient FCs before therapy, compared sleep quality between caregivers with and without depression and anxiety, and examined and related factors of sleep disturbance in FCs of NPC patients before therapy.
