t(14;18)(q32;q21) in chronic lymphocytic leukemia patients: Report of two cases and a literature review.

The chromosomal abnormality t(14;18)(q32;q21) is most commonly associated with germinal center-derived B-cell lymphomas, particularly follicular lymphoma (FL). Generally, it is considered a hallmark of FL. The t(14;18)(q32;q21) translocation is rare in chronic lymphocytic leukemia (CLL) and its prognostic significance remains unclear.

68Ga-PSMA-11 PET/CT for prostate cancer staging and risk stratification in Chinese patients.

We evaluated the clinical utility of 68Ga-PSMA-11 PET/CT for staging and risk stratification of treatment-naïve prostate cancer (PCa) and metastatic castrate-resistant prostate cancer (mCRPC). Twenty-two consecutive patients with treatment-naïve PCa and 18 with mCRPC were enrolled. 68Ga-PSMA-11 PET/CT and magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) were performed for the evaluation of primary prostatic lesions, and bone scans were used for evaluation bone metastasis.

Clinical observation of laser ablation combined with chemotherapy in postoperative colorectal cancers with liver metastasis.

Background: This study is to evaluate the efficacy and adverse reaction of a combination therapy of chemotherapy and laser thermal ablation (LTA) on liver metastases from colorectal cancer.

Methods: Eighty-five cases colorectal cancer liver metastases were assigned to the treatment group (43 cases) and to the control group (42 cases). The treatment group patients received LTA combined with FOLFIRI regimen chemotherapy, and the control group patients only received FOLFIRI regimen chemotherapy.

Increased risk of breast cancer in individuals carrying the TNRC9 rs3803662 C>T polymorphism: a meta-analysis of case-control studies.

Prognostic significance of lymphocyte-to-monocyte ratio in diffuse large B-cell lymphoma: a systematic review and meta-analysis.

Published evidence on the prognostic significance of lymphocyte-to-monocyte ratio (LMR) in diffuse large B-cell lymphoma (DLBCL) is controversial. We performed an updated meta-analysis from 12 reports with 5021 patients to more accurately evaluate the prognostic value of LMR in DLBCL. Herein, we confirmed that patients with low LMR had shorter overall survival and progression-free survival than those with high LMR in DLBCL.

Efficacy of adoptive cellular therapy in patients with gastric cancer: a meta-analysis.

Aim: To systemically evaluate the efficacy and safety of adoptive cellular therapy for the treatment of gastric cancer (GC).

Materials & Methods: We performed a systemic review and meta-analysis of nine eligible trials with GC and evaluated the effect of adoptive cellular therapy on the overall survival (OS) rate, T-cell subsets and adverse events.

Results: Overall, 829 patients were involved in the analysis.

The Effects of Ephedrine and Phenylephrine on Placental Vascular Resistance During Cesarean Section Under Epidual Anesthesia.

The purpose of this article is to study the effect of ephedrine and phenylephrine on placental vascular resistance during cesarean section under epidural anesthesia via Doppler ultrasonography. Sixty female subjects, scheduled for elective cesarean section and had an intrathecal injection of bupivacaine, were randomly divided into two groups to receive phenylephrine (50 μg/min) or ephedrine (4 mg/min) via titration to maintain systolic blood pressure at baseline. Doppler ultrasonography was used to measure baseline vascular resistance values prior to administration of anesthesia, and resistance index (RI) and systolic peak velocity/diastolic velocity (S/D) values of umbilical artery and uterine artery were measured at each time point within first 20 min following intrathecal injection.

Kyphoplasty was performed using three different techniques (ten for each group): conventional unilateral approach (group A), conventional bilateral approach (group B) and novel unilateral approach (group C).

The aim of the present study was to evaluate the efficacy of helium-neon laser therapy in the treatment of hydroxyapatite orbital implant exposure and compare the results with those of a combined drugs and surgery regimen. A total of 70 patients with hydroxyapatite orbital implant exposure in 70 eyes were randomly divided into two groups: Helium-neon laser therapy (group A) and drugs plus surgery (group B). Each group contained 35 patients.

Association of common polymorphisms in the IL2RA gene with type 1 diabetes: evidence of 32,646 individuals from 10 independent studies.

Single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) in the interleukin 2 receptor alpha (IL2RA) gene have been suggested to be associated with type 1 diabetes (T1D) susceptibility. However, the results from individual studies are inconsistent. To explore the association of IL2RA polymorphisms with T1D, including rs11594656, rs2104286, rs3118470, rs41295061 and rs706778, a meta-analysis involving 10 independent studies with 19 outcomes was conducted: five studies with a total of 10,572 cases and 12,956 controls were analysed for rs11594656 with T1D risk, three studies with 7300 cases and 8331 controls for rs2104286, three studies with 3880 cases and 5409 controls for rs3118470, five studies with 11,253 cases and 13,834 controls for rs41295061 and three studies with 1896 cases and 1709 controls for rs706778 respectively.
