Background The role of contrast-enhanced US (CEUS) in reducing unnecessary biopsies of thyroid nodules has received little attention. Purpose To construct and externally validate a thyroid imaging reporting and data system (TI-RADS) based on nonenhanced US and CEUS to stratify the malignancy risk of thyroid nodules. Materials and Methods This retrospective study evaluated 756 patients with 801 thyroid nodules who underwent nonenhanced US, CEUS, and fine-needle aspiration and received a final diagnosis from January 2018 to December 2019.

Background: We performed a meta-analysis to compare the effects of high-dose (80 mg/day) versus low-dose (40 mg/day) proton pump inhibitors (PPIs) on gastrointestinal ulcer bleeding.
Methods: We retrieved studies of randomized controlled trials of PPIs administered according to different schedules for the treatment of gastrointestinal ulcer bleeding from Medline, Embase, Web of Science, Clinical Trials, and the Cochrane Database in April 2020.
Results: Nine randomized controlled trials including 2329 patients were included in this meta-analysis.

The aim of the present study was to explore the effect of exogenous hydrogen sulphide (HS) on endoplasmic reticulum (ER) stress (ERS) in a rat model of hepatic ischemia/reperfusion (I/R) injury. A total of 48 Sprague-Dawley rats were randomly divided into four groups (n=12/group) as follows: Sham, I/R, I/R preceded by NaHS (I/R-NaHS) and I/R preceded by L-C-propargylglycine (PAG), a HS inhibitor (I/R-PAG). With the exception of the sham group, the rats in the other groups were subjected to 30 min hepatic warm ischemia followed by reperfusion for 6 or 12 h.

Parkinson's disease (PD) is referring to the multi-systemic α-synucleinopathy with Lewy bodies deposited in midbrain. In ageing, the environmental and genetic factors work together and overactive major histocompatibility complex pathway to regulate immune reactions in central nerve system which resulting in neural degeneration, especially in dopaminergic neurons. As a series of biomarkers, the human leukocyte antigen genes with its related proteomics play cortical roles on the antigen presentation of major histocompatibility complex molecules to stimulate the differentiation of T lymphocytes and i-proteasome activities under their immune response to the PD-related environmental alteration and genetic variation.
