Laparoscopic exploration of the common bile duct (CBD) has emerged as a predominant method in hepatobiliary surgery owing to its minimally invasive nature and favorable outcomes compared to traditional open surgery. Suturing the CBD during laparoscopic procedures is critical for ensuring proper bile drainage and reducing postoperative complications. This retrospective study enrolled patients who underwent laparoscopic exploration of the CBD for choledocholithiasis at the Wujin Hospital Affiliated with Jiangsu University between January 2016 and December 2023.

Background: Non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) is a fatal disease, and radioresistance is an important factor leading to treatment failure and disease progression. The objective of this research was to detect radioresistance-related genes (RRRGs) with prognostic value in NSCLC.
Methods: The weighted gene coexpression network analysis (WGCNA) and differentially expressed genes (DEGs) analysis were performed to identify RRRGs using expression profiles from TCGA and GEO databases.

Ethnopharmacological Relevance: Shexiang Baoxin Pill (MUSKARDIA), a traditional Chinese patent medicine, plays a crucial role in both preventing and treating diverse cardiovascular diseases, including coronary heart disease, myocardial infarction (MI), and heart failure. Preclinical research has demonstrated that the cardioprotective effects of MUSKARDIA are achieved through multiple pathways, such as enhancing coronary artery dilation, fostering new blood vessel growth, reducing inflammation and oxidative stress, improving lipid metabolism, and protecting vascular endothelium.
Aim Of The Study: This subgroup analysis aimed to evaluate the efficacy and safety of Shexiang Baoxin Pill (MUSKARDIA) plus optimal medical therapy (OMT) across different weight categories in treating stable coronary artery disease (CAD).

Exogenous microRNA-144 (miR-144) is considered as a potential biological drug for gastric cancer because of its biological activity to inhibit the epithelial-mesenchymal transition (EMT). However, the specific molecular mechanisms have not been fully revealed. In addition, their vulnerability to degradation by RNA enzymes in the blood limits their bioavailability.

Rationale: Solitary fibrous tumors (SFTs) are spindle cell tumors that typically occur in the pleura and peritoneum, but very rarely in the stomach. To our best knowledge, there are only 10 cases reported in English literature. We reported a case of primary stomach SFT and summarized the characteristics of all previous cases, suggesting that pathologists and surgeons should include this disease in the differential diagnosis list of primary mesenchymal tumor of the stomach.

Background: Right ventricular (RV) failure is a well-recognized pivotal prognostic factor of adverse outcomes in pulmonary artery hypertension (PAH), while RV dilation provides significant implications for adaptive or maladaptive changes. PAH is a predominant cause of mortality among patients with connective tissue disease (CTD). This study aims to elucidate the prognostic significance of RV morphology, as assessed by echocardiography (ECHO), in with CTD associated with PAH (CTD-PAH).

Objectives: Monitoring minimal residual disease (MRD) and timely intervention are effective strategies for preventing relapse after allogeneic hematopoietic stem cell transplantation (allo-HSCT) in adult acute myeloid leukemia (AML). The gene, a pan-leukemia marker, can be used as an indicator for MRD monitoring in AML patients. Currently, there is no unified standard for the intervention timing or treatment threshold based on gene detection after transplantation.

Background: The treatment of early gastric cancer (EGC) is contingent upon the status of lymph node metastasis (LNM). Accurate preoperative prediction of LNM is critical for reducing unnecessary surgeries. This study seeks to evaluate the risk factors for LNM in submucosal EGC and develop a predictive model to optimize therapeutic decision-making.

The aging population has led to a global issue of osteoarthritis (OA), which not only impacts the quality of life for patients but also poses a significant economic burden on society. While biotherapy offers hope for OA treatment, currently available treatments are unable to delay or prevent the onset or progression of OA. Recent studies have shown that as nanoscale bioactive substances that mediate cell communication, exosomes from stem cell sources have led to some breakthroughs in the treatment of OA and have important clinical significance.

Background: Advances in imaging technology have enhanced the detection of pulmonary nodules. However, determining malignancy often requires invasive procedures or repeated radiation exposure, underscoring the need for safer, noninvasive diagnostic alternatives. Analyzing exhaled volatile organic compounds (VOCs) shows promise, yet its effectiveness in assessing the malignancy of pulmonary nodules remains underexplored.

Purpose: Low density of electroencephalogram alpha band power was reported to be associated with perioperative cognitive dysfunction. Few studies have conducted to explore the effects of remimazolam on intraoperative frontal alpha band power spectrum density in older adults. Here, we aimed to explore the impact of remimazolam on intraoperative frontal brain wave alpha band activity and postoperative cognitive function in older adults undergoing lower extremity fractures surgeries.

Background: Gastric dysmotility and gastric slow wave dysrhythmias have been well documented in patients with diabetes. However, little is known on the effect of hyperglycemia on small intestine motility, such as intestinal slow waves, due to limited options in measuring its activity. Moreover, food intake and digestion process have been reported to alter the small intestine motility in normal rats, but their roles in that of diabetic rats remains unknown.

Introduction: For patients with breast cancer receiving preoperative neoadjuvant chemotherapy with anthracyclines, there is an increased risk of postoperative myocardial injury due to the cardiotoxicity of the chemotherapeutic agents. The optimal intraoperative blood pressure regulation regimen for these patients is unclear. This study is being conducted to determine whether targeting mean arterial pressure (MAP) to 100%-120% of the patient's baseline blood pressure reduces the incidence of myocardial injury after non-cardiac surgery (MINS) compared with targeting MAP to 80%-100%.

Background: Tumor cells can drive the senescence of effector T cells by unbalancing their lipid metabolism, thereby limiting adoptive T cell therapy and contributing to tumor immune evasion. Our objective is to provide a feasible strategy for enhancing T cell treatment efficacy against solid tumors.
Methods: In this study, liposomal arachidonyl trifluoromethyl ketone (ATK) was anchored onto the adoptive T cell surface via bioorthogonal reactions, aiming to specifically inhibit the group IVA cytosolic phospholipase Aα (cPLAα), a key enzyme facilitating phospholipid metabolism and senescent state of T cells.
