The application of decision tree model based on clinicopathological risk factors and pre-operative MRI radiomics for predicting short-term recurrence of glioblastoma after total resection: a retrospective cohort study.

To develop a decision tree model based on clinical information, molecular genetics information and pre-operative magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) radiomics-score (Rad-score) to investigate its predictive value for the risk of recurrence of glioblastoma (GBM) within one year after total resection. Patients with pathologically confirmed GBM at Huashan Hospital, Fudan University between November 2017 and June 2020 were retrospectively analyzed, and the enrolled patients were randomly divided into training and test sets according to the ratio of 3:1. The relevant clinical and MRI data of patients before, after surgery and follow-up were collected, and after feature extraction on preoperative MRI, the LASSO filter was used to filter the features and establish the Rad-score.

[Changes and significance of serum prealbumin expression in patients with oral and maxillofacial space infections].

Purpose: To investigate the changes of serum prealbumin (PA) expression level in patients with oral and maxillofacial space infections and its significance.

Methods: Patients hospitalized at the Affiliated Hospital of Xuzhou Medical University from January 2020 to September 2021 were selected and divided into infected and non-infected group. One hundred and twenty-one patients with moderate to severe oral and maxillofacial gap infections were in the infected group, and 128 patients without infection were in the non-infected group.

Different classes of antibiotics exhibit disparate negative impacts on the therapeutic efficacy of immune checkpoint inhibitors in advanced non-small cell lung cancer patients.

It has been reported that antibiotics (ATBs) have adverse effect on the efficacy of treatment with immune checkpoint inhibitors (ICIs) in cancer patients. Since different classes of ATBs have different antibacterial spectrum, we aimed to study whether all ATBs had similar or different negative effects on the clinical outcomes of ICIs in patients with advanced non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC). Patients with advanced NSCLC who received ICIs were included in this retrospective study and grouped by the class of ATBs they had used around the ICIs treatment time.

A novel preoperative MRI-based radiomics nomogram outperforms traditional models for prognostic prediction in pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma.

To develop an efficient prognostic model based on preoperative magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) radiomics for patients with pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma (PDAC), the preoperative MRI data of PDAC patients in two independent centers (defined as development cohort and validation cohort, respectively) were collected retrospectively, and the radiomics features of tumors were then extracted. Based on the optimal radiomics features which were significantly related to overall survival (OS) and progression-free survival (PFS), the score of radiomics signature (Rad-score) was calculated, and its predictive efficiency was evaluated according to the area under receiver operator characteristic curve (AUC). Subsequently, the clinical-radiomics nomogram which incorporated the Rad-score and clinical parameters was developed, and its discrimination, consistency and application value were tested by calibration curve, concordance index (C-index) and decision curve analysis (DCA).

Transforming growth factor β (TGF-β) signaling plays critical roles in both physiological and pathological conditions. In the tumor microenvironment, TGF-β are well demonstrated as a tumor inducer, which also promote tumor growth and metastasis. SMAD family is an important TGF-β signalling transducer, which consists of receptor-regulated SMADs (R-SMADs), common-mediator SMADs (co-SMADs), and inhibitory SMADs (I-SMADs).

New insights of extrachromosomal DNA in tumorigenesis and therapeutic resistance of cancer.

In the past few decades, the studies of extrachromosomal DNA (ecDNA), which existed independently of chromosomes, were tepid. However, recent studies on ecDNA rekindled the enthusiasm of oncologists for further studying ecDNA. In this review, we summarized the recent advances of ecDNA in oncogenesis and oncotherapy.

[CT manifestations and prognosis of acute paraquat induced lung injury].

To investigate the CT features of lung injury induced by paraquat poisoning and its relationship with prognosis, and to provide reference for the judgment of the condition and prognosis of paraquat poisoning. 146 cases of paraquat poisoning patients were treated in the Third People's Hospital of Xuzhou City from January 2013 to April 2016. The cases were divided into mild group, moderate-severe group and fulminant group according to the concentration of paraquat in urine.

Cancer metastasis is a significant challenge in colorectal cancer (CRC) therapy. SET and MYND domain-containing protein 2 (SMYD2) is highly expressed in multiple cancers but is rarely studied in CRC. This study aims to identify whether abnormal expression of SMYD2 is associated with cancer metastasis in CRC.

Contrast acute kidney injury refers to acute renal failure due to the application of contrast agents. Astaxanthin, as an antioxidant, can improve early acute kidney injury in severely burned rats. However, the mechanism of astaxanthin for renal protection is still unclear.
