Objective: Comparison of the clinical effectiveness and safety of three-dimensional transperitoneal laparoscopic radical prostatectomy (3D TLRP) versus 3D extraperitoneal LRP (3D ELRP) for prostate cancer.

Materials And Methods: To retrospectively analyze the clinical and regular postoperative follow-up data of patients who underwent 3D LRP performed by the same attending surgeon at the Affiliated Hospital of Bengbu Medical College between 2017 and 2022. A total of 82 patients who met the criteria were included.

Current anti-angiogenic therapies have changed the paradigm of treating colorectal cancer (CRC) patients with advanced diseases. However, the clinical response rate is still low at less than 10% due largely to complex angiogenic factors released by tumor cells. Exploring novel mechanisms of tumor angiogenesis and identifying alternative targets for combination therapies are therefore essential to effective inhibition of tumor vascularization and CRC development.

Doxorubicin (DOX) is an effective chemotherapeutic drug developed against a broad range of cancers, and its clinical applications are greatly restricted by the side effects of severe cardiotoxicity during tumour treatment. Herein, the DOX-loaded biodegradable porous polymeric drug, namely, Fc-Ma-DOX, which was stable in the circulation, but easy to compose in the acidic medium, was used as the drug delivery system avoiding the indiscriminate release of DOX. Fc-Ma was constructed the copolymerization of 1,1'-ferrocenecarbaldehyde with d-mannitol (Ma) through the pH-sensitive acetal bonds.

Background: In previous study, qRT-PCR analysis revealed significantly higher miR-182 levels in papillary thyroid carcinoma (PTC) than matched normal tissues. However, the clinical significance and prognostic value of miR-182 have not been investigated in PTC until now.

Methods: 151 pairs of PTC and adjacent normal thyroid tissues were obtained from Affiliated Hospital of Weifang Medical University from February 2008 to January 2015.

Glucocorticoids (GCs) have been widely applied to treat patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD). But the effect of GCs was not ideal. This study was to observe whether erythromycin could enhance the anti-inflammatory activity of budesonide in COPD model rats and to explore the mechanism involved.

To investigate the expression of Beclin1 in the colonic mucosa tissue of patients with ulcerative colitis (UC), which acts as a regulator of autophagy and might play a part in the disease progression potentially. A total of 112 patients were selected from September 2013 to November 2014, and their colonic mucosal tissues were collected as the subject of study. Among them, 75 cases were diagnosed with ulcerative colitis (UC), 37 cases were diagnosed with irritable bowel syndrome (IRS) during the same time, which was set as the control group.

Trefoil factor 3 (TFF3), a regulatory protein composed of 59 amino acids, has been suggested to be involved in pathogenesis, proliferation, differentiation, invasion, migration and apoptosis in multiple malignant tumors. This study thus investigated the effect of TFF3 knockout in human pituitary adenoma cell line HP75 on cell apoptosis and related pathways. RNA interference approach was used to knock down the expression of TFF3 protein.

This study aims to detect the mRNA of p53β and Δ133p53 isoforms in three gastric carcinoma cell lines and tissues of superficial gastritis, atrophic gastritis, gastric carcinoma, or paracancerous area. Nested reverse transcription PCR was used to detect the mRNA of p53β and Δ133p53 isoforms in tissues of superficial gastritis, chronic atrophic gastritis, gastric cancer cell lines (SGC-7901, MKN45, KATO III), gastric adenocarcinoma, and paracancerous lesion. The amplified products were shown by agarose gel electrophoresis.

Objective: To observe the anti-inflammatory effects of honokiol in primary cultures of peripheral blood mononuclear cells of rheumatoid arthritis patients, the pro-inflammatory cytokines and potential targets were investigated.

Methods: The levels of GM-CSF, IL-1β, TNF-α and IL-8 were determined by ELISA assay. The genes and proteins expression were analyzed by real-time PCR and Western blotting respectively.

Purpose: we aimed to investigate the receptor for advanced glycation end products (RAGE) -374T/A polymorphism and breast cancer risk in a Chinese population.

Methods: The study subjects included 188 women with histologically confirmed breast cancer and 210 controls. The RAGE genotypes were determined using Polymerase Chain Reaction-Restriction Fragment Length Polymorphism (PCR-RFLP) assay.
