This study aimed to explore the impact of chitosan oligosaccharide on bone health and inflammatory pathways in mice suffering from osteoporosis and periodontitis.
Thirty rats were divided into three groups: a control group, an ovariectomized group with periodontitis, and a treatment group receiving chitosan oligosaccharide to assess its therapeutic effects over 90 days.
Results indicated significant differences in bone density, serum markers, and periodontal health between the treatment and control groups, suggesting chitosan oligosaccharide may have beneficial effects on bone metabolism and inflammation.
