Background: Congestive heart failure (CHF) is a major cause of the development of progressive chronic kidney disease (CKD), while the mechanism is still unknown. LncRNA PVT1 contributes to kidney injury. This study aimed to explore the role of PVT1 in the development of CKD in CHF patients.

Background: Long non-coding RNAs (lncRNAs) have been identified as crucial regulatory factors in the occurrence and progression of osteosarcoma.

Methods: Quantitative real-time polymerase chain reaction was used for detecting small nucleolar RNA host gene 4 (SNHG4) and miR-377-3p in osteosarcoma cells and tissues. Kaplan-Meier method was applied for evaluating the association between SNHG4 expression and the overall survival of osteosarcoma patients.

Article Synopsis
  • The stress-induced phosphoprotein 1 (STIP1) plays a significant role in promoting interactions between heat shock proteins Hsp70 and Hsp90, and its overexpression is linked to various human cancers, including pancreatic cancer (PANC), though its specific function in PANC is not well understood.
  • Clinical studies reveal a strong correlation between high STIP1 expression and negative outcomes in PANC, such as lymph node involvement, metastasis, and overall patient prognosis, indicating that STIP1 may serve as an independent prognostic factor.
  • Knockdown studies show that reducing STIP1 expression decreases the migratory and invasive capacities of pancreatic cancer cells while affecting the expression of key proteins involved in cancer progression, suggesting that STIP1
