Background: Numerous randomized controlled trials (RCTs) conducted in China have shown that jinlida granules are a promising traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) for the treatment of persons with type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM). Controversial results have been reported in different RCTs. The aim of our study was to evaluate the adjuvant hypoglycemic effect of jinlida granules on persons with T2DM and to explore the source of heterogeneity between these RCTs.

Contrast enhancement (CE) on brain non-contrast computed tomography (NCCT) is common after endovascular thrombectomy (EVT) in patients with acute ischemic stroke (AIS), but its association with clinical outcomes is not well established. The current study aimed to investigate this relationship. We retrospectively reviewed consecutive patients with acute ischemic stroke who had hyperdensity on NCCT immediately after EVT for anterior circulation large vessel occlusion (LVO) from January 2016 to December 2019.

Investigation on the surface morphologies of reduced graphene oxide coating on the interfacial characteristics and electro-catalytic capacity of enzymatic glucose sensors.

Nanotechnology

October 2022

Key Lab of Manufacturing Equipment of Shaanxi Province, School of Mechanical and Precision Instrument Engineering, Xi'an University of Technology, Xi'an 710048, People's Republic of China.

In this study, reduced graphene oxide (rGO) were subject to ultrasonic treatment to acquire varied morphologies, and the enzymatic glucose sensors were constructed by coating the rGO onto indium tin oxide electrodes and physically linking glucose oxidase to the rGO coatings. The effects of the surface morphologies of the rGO coatings on the interfacial characteristics and the electro-catalytic capacity of the enzymatic glucose sensors were systematically investigated. It turns out that, the rGO coating with a rough surface is more hydrophilic, and exhibits uniform glucose oxidase adsorption and higher electron migration rate at the solid/liquid interface between the analytical liquid and the working electrode.

Objective: Glutathione peroxidase 1 (GPX1) is a major selenoprotein in most animal tissues, primarily expressed in the cytoplasm and mitochondria of cells and peroxidase structures of certain cells. GPX1 expression is highly correlated with carcinogenesis and disease progression. The goal of the study was to determine the association between GPX1 expression and tumor therapy, and to identify GPX1 prognostic value in various malignancies.

Doxorubicin (DOX), the anthracycline chemotherapeutic agent, is widely used for the treatment of various cancers. However, its clinical application is compromised by dose-dependent and fatal cardiotoxicity. This study is aimed at investigating the cardioprotective effects of Qishen granule (QSG) and the specific mechanism by which QSG alleviates DOX-induced cardiotoxicity (DIC) and providing an alternative for the treatment of DIC.

Objective: To explore the effect of nimotuzumab combined with Taxol + Cisplatin (TP) regimen induction chemotherapy and sequential concurrent chemoradiotherapy on the improvement of curative effect and prognosis of patients with locally advanced nasopharyngeal carcinoma.

Method: A retrospective analysis was performed on 91 patients with locally advanced nasopharyngeal carcinoma who were admitted to our hospital from February 2017 to February 2019, of which 41 patients received TP induction chemotherapy were assigned to control group (CG), and the remaining 50 patients received nimotuzumab on the basis of control group were assigned to observation group (OG). Both groups of patients received cisplatin chemotherapy concurrently with intensity-modulated radiotherapy (IMRT).

Objective: High-density lipoprotein (HDL) was found vasoprotective, but numbers of patients with acute myocardial infarction (AMI) have normal or even high levels of pathological HDL (pHDL). So, we investigate the mechanism of pHDL in AMI patients on angiogenesis.

Methods: HDL with normal levels from healthy subjects (nHDL, control group, = 20) and patients with AMI (pHDL, experimental groups, = 30) were obtained by super high speed centrifugation.
