Background: Phospholysine phosphohistidine inorganic pyrophosphate phosphatase (LHPP) serves as a tumor suppressor in hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC), but the correlation between the expression of LHPP and the clinical parameters of oncogenic progression is still not well defined. This study is to reveal the correlation between the expression of LHPP in HCC and their clinical parameters.

Methods: Immunohistochemical analysis was used to assess the correlation between the expression of LHPP and the clinical parameters of HCC.

Zinc finger protein 367 (ZNF367) has been documented as a new cancer-related protein that exerts a pivotal role in the carcinogenesis of multiple cancers. However, whether ZNF367 plays a role in colorectal cancer has not been fully understood. Our data showed that ZNF367 expression was higher in colorectal cancer.

Introduction: Coronary heart disease (CHD) is a common clinical cardiovascular disease, and its morbidity and mortality rates are increasing, which brings a serious burden to the family and society. Dyslipidemia is one of the most important risk factors for CHD. However, it is difficult to reduce blood lipids to an ideal state with the administration of a statin alone.

As global warming intensifies, emerging evidence has demonstrated high ambient temperature during pregnancy negatively affects maternal physiology with compromised pregnant outcomes; however, little is known about the roles of gut microbiota and its underlying mechanisms in this process. Here, for the first time, we explored the potential mechanisms of gut microbiota involved in the disrupted glycolipid metabolism via hepatic mitochondrial function. Our results indicate heat stress (HS) reduces fat and protein contents and serum levels of insulin and triglyceride (TG), while increases that of non-esterified fatty acid (NEFA), β-hydroxybutyric acid (B-HBA), creatinine and blood urea nitrogen (BUN) (P < 0.

Substantial evidence indicates that microRNAs (miRNAs) can be used as biological markers of Parkinson's disease (PD) and contribute to the risk assessment, early diagnosis, and treatment. We aimed to explore the role and potential mechanism of miR-20a-5p on inflammation and oxidative stress in 1-methyl-4-phenyl pyridine ion- (MPP-) induced HT22 cells. HT22 cells were pretreated with miR-20a-5p mimic and/or pcDNA-IRF9 for 24 h and then treated with MPP (0.

VR/AR Technology in Human Anatomy Teaching and Operation Training.

J Healthc Eng

April 2022

Shaanxi Key Laboratory of Chinese Medicine Encephalopathy, Shaanxi University of Chinese Medicine, Xianyang 712046, Shaanxi, China.

AR/VR technology can fuse the clinical imaging data and information to build an anatomical environment combining virtual and real, which is helpful to improve the interest of teaching and the learning initiative of medical students, and then improve the effect of clinical teaching. This paper studies the application and learning effect of the VR/AR system in human anatomy surgery teaching. This paper first shows the learning environment and platform of the VR/AR system, then explains the interface and operation of the system, and evaluates the teaching situation.

Oral Chinese patent medicine (OCPM) combined with western medicine (WM) are believed to be effective for the therapy of chronic prostatitis/chronic pelvic pain syndrome (CP/CPPS) with sexual dysfunction (SD). These western medicines mainly involve antibiotics, phosphodiesterase type-5 inhibitor (PDE-5i), α-blockers. But there is no randomized controlled trial (RCT) that directly compares the efficacy of different OCPM.

Unlabelled: Hepatic stellate cells (HSCs) activation is a key step that promotes hepatic fibrosis. Emerging evidence suggests that aerobic glycolysis is one of its important metabolic characteristics. Our previous study has reported that CD147, a glycosylated transmembrane protein, contributes significantly to the activation of HSCs.

Baicalin and Geniposide Inhibit Polarization and Inflammatory Injury of OGD/R-Treated Microglia by Suppressing the 5-LOX/LTB4 Pathway.

Neurochem Res

July 2021

Key Laboratory of Pharmacodynamic Mechanism and Material Basis of Traditional Chinese Medicine, Shaanxi Provincial Administration of Traditional Chinese Medicine, Shaanxi University of Chinese Medicine, Xianyang, 712046, China.

Cerebral ischemia causes severe neurological disorders and neuronal dysfunction. Baicalin (BC), geniposide (GP), and their combination (BC/GP) have been shown to inhibit post-ischemic inflammatory injury by inhibiting the 5-LOX/CysLTs pathway. The aims of this study were to observe the inhibitory effects of BC/GP on the activation of microglial cells induced by oxygen glucose deprivation and reoxygenation (OGD/R) and to investigate whether the 5-LOX/LTB4 pathway was involved in these effects.

Zygotic epigenetic reprogramming is the major initial event in embryo development to acquire a totipotent potential. However, the patterns of epigenetic modifications in bovine zygote were not well clarified, especially in the first cell cycle of bovine somatic cell nuclear transfer (SCNT) embryos. This study was conducted to examine the patterns of DNA methylation (5-methylcytosine [5mc] and 5-hydroxymethylcytosine [5hmc]) and histone H3 lysine 9 methylation (H3K9m2 and H3K9m3) in the first cell cycle of bovine fertilization (IVF) and SCNT embryos.

Synaptic dysfunction and neuronal loss are related to cognitive impairment of Alzheimer's disease. Recent evidence indicates that regulating the phosphatidylinositol 3-Kinase (PI3K)/AKT/GSK-3β pathway is a therapeutic strategy for improving synaptic plasticity in Alzheimer's disease. Here, we investigated "olfactory three-needle" effects on synaptic function and the PI3K/AKT/GSK-3β signaling pathway in β-amyloid (Aβ)-induced Alzheimer's disease rats.
