The flexible design and unique physical and chemical properties of self-assembled peptides have shown great potential for applications in the fields of materials science, life science, and environmental science. Peptide nanofibers (PNFs), as a kind of bioactive nanomaterials, possess excellent biocompatibility, flexible designability, and multifaceted functionalizability. In this work, we design and describe PNFs that self-assembled by peptide molecules as carriers for bimetallic nanosheets (BMNS), leading to the development of hybrid nanomaterials, BMNS-PNFs, with unique properties.

Although molecular and culture-independent studies revealed RA patients harbored a core microbiome and had characteristic bacterial species, the lack of cultured bacterial strains had limited investigations on their functions. This study aimed to establish an RA-originated gut microbial biobank (RAGMB) that covers and further to correlates and validates core microbial species on clinically used and diagnostic inflammation and immune indices.

Effectively eliminating apoptotic cells is precisely controlled by a variety of signaling molecules and a phagocytic effect known as efferocytosis. Abnormalities in efferocytosis may bring about the development of chronic conditions, including angiocardiopathy, chronic inflammatory diseases and autoimmune diseases. During wound healing, failure of efferocytosis leads to the collection of apoptosis, the release of necrotic material and chronic wounds that are difficult to heal.

A comprehensive immune landscape for infection is crucial for developing new treatments for brucellosis. Here, we utilized single-cell RNA sequencing (scRNA-seq) of 290,369 cells from 35 individuals, including 29 brucellosis patients from acute ( = 10), sub-acute ( = 9), and chronic ( = 10) phases as well as six healthy donors. Enzyme-linked immunosorbent assays were applied for validation within this cohort.

Nanodrug delivery systems (NDDS) have been proposed to improve the targeting and bioavailability of chemotherapy drugs. The approach of drug loading physical adsorption is facile to operate; however, there exists a risk of premature leakage. Coupling the drug molecules with the carrier through chemical reactions can guarantee the stability of the drug delivery process, yet the preparation procedure is relatively intricate.

Biomaterials are widely used in regenerative medicine to repair full-thickness skin defect wounds. The adipose-derived stromal vascular fraction (SVF) shows pro-regenerative properties, however, the biological activity of SVF is suppressed due to the lack of an external scaffold. Tilapia skin, as a sustained and recyclable biomaterial with low immunogenicity, was applied in the preparation of a hydrogel.

Cardiovascular diseases caused by atherosclerosis (AS) seriously damage human health. Nano-photothermal technology has been proven to inhibit the development of vascular inflammation by inhibiting the proliferation of inflammatory macrophages. However, photothermal therapy can inhibit the enrichment of AS macrophages in the early stage, but the inhibitory effect is insufficient in the later stage.

Iron overload is common in cardiovascular disease, it is also the factor that drives ferroptosis. Noncoding RNAs play an important role in heart disease; however, their regulatory role in iron overload-mediated ferroptosis remains much unknown. In our study, the iron overload model in mice was constructed through a high-iron diet, and ammonium iron citrate treatment was used to mimic iron overload in vitro.
