Background: Patients with refractory erythema of rosacea have limited treatment options.

Objective: To evaluate the efficacy and safety of a 12-week course of paroxetine for moderate-to-severe erythema of rosacea.

Methods: In a multicenter, randomized, double-blinded, placebo-controlled trial, patients with refractory erythema of rosacea were randomly assigned (1:1) to receive paroxetine 25 mg daily or placebo for 12 weeks.

Background: Serine and arginine-rich splicing factor 9 (SRSF9) has been linked to the occurrence and progression of various cancers; however, its effects and mechanism of action hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) have not been reported. In this study, we used a bioinformatics approach and in vitro assays to evaluate the expression of SRSF9 in HCC, its prognostic value, and its underlying regulatory mechanisms, including analyses of related pathways and the role of methylation.

Methods: Transcriptomic and DNA methylation data for 357 HCC cases and 50 paratumor tissues in The Cancer Genome Atlas database were obtained.

Introduction: Vascular cognitive impairment (VCI) and Alzheimer's disease are the most common cognitive impairment diseases in the elderly. This study aimed to apply the Repeatable Battery for Assessment of Neuropsychological Status (RBANS) scale to evaluate VCI in elderly patients and analyze its reliability and validity.

Methods: We enrolled 278 VCI patients admitted to our hospital, from June 2017 to June 2018.

Retroperitoneal fibrosis (RPF) is an uncommon condition characterized by inflammation and fibrosis in the retroperitoneal space. More than two-thirds of RPF are idiopathic, with the remaining stemed from a variety of secondary causes. It was suggested that IgG4-related RPF is a secondary form of RPF.

Aortic dissecting aneurysm (ADA) represents an aortic remodeling disease with a high mortality rate. Fat mass and obesity-associated protein (FTO) exerts RNA demethylation function to regulate gene expression related to stem cell differentiation, DNA damage repair, and tumorigenesis, but the role of FTO in ADA is still unclear. The expression and location of FTO in 43 ADA tissues and 11 normal tissues were determined by RT-qPCR, WB, immunohistochemistry, and immunofluorescence staining.

Clinical features of IgG4-related retroperitoneal fibrosis among 407 patients with IgG4-related disease: a retrospective study.

Objectives: IgG4-related disease (IgG4-RD) is recently recognized as a fibro-inflammatory condition featured by tumefactive lesions in multiple organs, and the retroperitoneum is one of the common involved sites. We undertook this study to compare detailed demographic, clinical and laboratory characteristics of IgG4-RD patients with retroperitoneum lesion (IgG4-RD RPF+) and retroperitoneum free IgG4-RD (IgG4-RD RPF-) in a large cohort.

Methods: We carried out a retrospective review of the medical records of 407 cases of IgG4-RD diagnosed at Peking University People's Hospital between March 2009 and May 2019.

[Effects of glutathione on oxidative stress, leptin and adiponectin in patients with obstructive sleep apnea complicated with metabolic syndrome].

The aim of this study is to analyze the effects of glutathione on oxidative stress, leptin and adiponectin in patients with obstructive sleep apnea（OSA） complicated with metabolic syndrome. One hundred and fifty-nine patients with OSA and MS were enrolled in the group A according to the exclusion criteria. One hundred and fifty-nine patients with MS group were not included in the OSA group, and 159 patients were included in the control group.
