Background: Early life stress (ELS) significantly increases the risk of mood disorders and affects the neurodevelopment of the primary cortex.
Hypothesis: Modulating the primary cortex through neural intervention can ameliorate the impact of ELS on brain development and consequently alleviate its effects on mood disorders.
Method: We induced the chronic unpredictable mild stress (CUMS) model in adolescent rats, followed by applying repetitive transcranial magnetic stimulation (rTMS) to their primary cortex in early adulthood.

Background: Primary immune thrombocytopenia (ITP) is an autoimmune disease, and rituximab (RTX) induces long-term effect as second-line treatments. Zuberitamab is an innovative anti-CD20 monoclonal antibody, which was first developed in China and launched in diffuse large B lymphoma. This study aimed to investigate the safety, efficacy, and anticipated therapeutic dose of zuberitamab in Chinese ITP patients.

Understanding of infection dynamics is important for public health measures against monkeypox virus (MPXV) infection. Herein, samples from multiple body sites and environmental fomites of 77 acute MPXV infections (HIV co-infection: N = 42) were collected every two to three days and used for detection of MPXV DNA, surface protein specific antibodies and neutralizing titers. Skin lesions show 100% positivity rate of MPXV DNA, followed by rectum (88.

Background: Medical imaging modalities, such as magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), ultrasound, and fluorescence imaging, have gained widespread acceptance in clinical practice for tumor diagnosis. Each imaging modality has its own unique principles, advantages, and limitations, thus necessitating a multimodal approach for a comprehensive disease understanding of the disease process. To enhance diagnostic precision, physicians frequently integrate data from multiple imaging modalities, driving research advancements in multimodal imaging technology research.

Background: The conversion from a temporary to a permanent stoma (PS) following rectal cancer surgery significantly impacts the quality of life of patients. However, there is currently a lack of practical preoperative tools to predict PS formation. The purpose of this study is to establish a preoperative predictive model for PS using machine learning algorithms to guide clinical practice.

A long-standing hypothesis proposes that certain RNA(s) must exhibit structural roles in microtubule assembly. Here, we identify a long noncoding RNA (TubAR) that is highly expressed in cerebellum and forms RNA-protein complex with TUBB4A and TUBA1A, two tubulins clinically linked to cerebellar and myelination defects. TubAR knockdown in mouse cerebellum causes loss of oligodendrocytes and Purkinje cells, demyelination, and decreased locomotor activity.

Mild traumatic brain injury (mTBI)-induced post-traumatic headache (PTH) is a pressing public health concern and leading cause of disability worldwide. Although PTH is often accompanied by neurological disorders, the exact underlying mechanism remains largely unknown. Identifying potential biomarkers may prompt the diagnosis and development of effective treatments for mTBI-induced PTH.

Objective: In this study we aimed to determine the impact of human urine derived stem cells (USC) and genetically modified USC that were designed to overexpress myogenic growth factor IGF1 (USC), on the regenerative capacity of cardiotoxin (CTX)-injured murine skeletal muscle.
Methods: We overexpressed IGF1 in USC and investigated the alterations in myogenic capacity and regenerative function in cardiotoxin-injured muscle tissues.
Results: Compared with USC alone, USC activated the IGF1-Akt-mTOR signaling pathway, significantly improved myogenic differentiation capacity in vitro, and enhanced the secretion of myogenic growth factors and cytokines.
