Lipid accumulation and progressive necroinflammation play pivotal roles in the development of diabetic nephropathy. C1q tumour necrosis factor-related protein-3 (CTRP3) is an adipokine with pleiotropic functions in cell proliferation, glucose and lipid metabolism, and inflammation. However, the mechanism and involvement of CTRP3 in lipid metabolism and the necroinflammation of renal tubular cells remain unclear.

Background: To date, seven mutations have been reported in families with autosomal dominant non-syndromic hearing loss worldwide. All the mutations cause exon 8 skipping at the mRNA level, that led to the protein truncated and the protein could exert a gain of ototoxic function.
Objective: In this study, we found an autosomal-dominant non-syndromic hearing loss Chinese pedigree which spanned four generations and comprised 43 members.

This study aims to determine the cellular functions and clinical significance of microRNA-409 (miR-409) in breast cancer by targeting special AT-rich sequence-binding protein 1 (SATB1). Breast cancer tissues and adjacent normal tissues, breast cancer cell lines (MDA-MB-453, MDA-MB-231, BT-549, BR3, and MCF-7) were used. miR-409 mimics, miR-409 inhibitor, SATB1, and siSATB1 were transiently transduced into cancer cells independently or together.

Background: Hereditary spastic paraplegia (HSP) is a group of neurodegenerative diseases characterized by lower-limb spastic paraplegia with highly genetic and clinical heterogeneity. However, the clinical sign of spastic paraplegia can also be seen in a variety of hereditary neurologic diseases with bilateral corticospinal tract impairment. The purpose of this study is to identify the disease spectrum of spastic paraplegia, and to broaden the coverage of genetic testing and recognize clinical, laboratorial, electrophysiological and radiological characteristics to increase the positive rate of diagnosis.

PEPT1 is a vital member of the proton-dependent oligopeptide transporters family (POTs). Many studies have confirmed that PEPT1 plays a critical role in the absorption of dipeptides, tripeptides, and pseudopeptides in the intestinal tract. In recent years, several studies have found that PEPT1 is highly expressed in malignant tumor tissues and cells.

Mitochondrial DNA is the mitochondria's own genetic material located within the mitochondrial matrix and is involved in cellular metabolism and energy supply. Mitochondrial DNA damage exacerbates oxidative stress by increasing the release of reactive oxygen species, while mitochondrial DNA release also triggers apoptosis and activates immune inflammatory responses through damage-related molecular patterns. Mitochondrial autophagy regulates mitochondrial DNA damage and release through a negative feedback mechanism to maintain intracellular homeostasis.

Developing guidelines for the diagnosis and treatment of common cancers in China based on the evidence-based practice, the availability of diagnosis and treatment products, and the up-to-date advances in precision medicine is one of the basic tasks of the Chinese Society of Clinical Oncology (CSCO). In recent years, the availability of medical resources has become a major concern in clinical guidelines, which is particularly important for developing countries or socioeconomically diverse countries and territories. China is the world's largest developing country, with a large territory and uneven economic and academic developments.

In order to investigate the expression levels of serum IFN-, IL-4, and tumor necrosis TNF- in patients with cervicitis complicated with human papillomavirus (HPV) infection and clinical significance, a retrospective study was conducted on 90 patients with chronic cervicitis complicated by HP V infection who visited our hospital from June 2020 to June 2021, and they are included in the research group. According to the degree of HPV infection, the patients are divided into low-risk HPV type group ( = 65 cases) and high-risk HPV type group ( = 25 cases); 50 patients with cervicitis (without HPV infection) who received treatment in our hospital are selected as control group 1. Fifty healthy women who underwent physical examination are selected as the control group 2.

Background: Although long non-coding RNA differentiation antagonizing non-protein coding RNA (DANCR) has been reported to be involved in atherosclerosis (AS) development, its specific mechanism remains unclear.
Methods: DANCR expression levels in blood samples of AS patients and oxidized low-density lipoprotein (ox-LDL) treated vascular smooth muscle cells (VSMCs) and human umbilical vein endothelial cells (HUVECs) were detected by quantitative real-time polymerase chain reaction (qRT-PCR). The small interfering RNA targeting DANCR (si-DANCR) was used to silence DANCR expression.

Type 1 diabetes (T1D) is an autoimmune disease that causes a deficit of pancreatic islet β cells. Millions of individuals worldwide have T1D, and its incidence increases annually. Recent clinical trials have highlighted the limits of conventional immunotherapy in T1D and underscore the need for novel treatments that not only overcome multiple immune dysfunctions, but also help restore islet β-cell function.
