This study aims to investigate the effectiveness of Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) therapy for chalazion treatment while also exploring potential variations in sensitivity among different types of chalazion. A total of 149 patients were selected to receive tobramycin combined with IPL treatment and tobramycin combined with hot compress. The treatment groups were divided into cystic type and granulomatous type according to different clinical manifestations.

This study aims to explore the acute effects of short-term exposure to PM components and their mixture on PROM. Counts of hospital admissions due to PROM were collected at the Fourth Hospital of Shijiazhuang. The associations between the PROM and PM components was examined using a time-stratified case-crossover approach.

[Research progress on biomechanics for internal fixation in tibial plateau fracture].

Objective: To review the biomechanical research progress of internal fixation of tibial plateau fracture in recent years and provide a reference for the selection of internal fixation in clinic.

Methods: The literature related to the biomechanical research of internal fixation of tibial plateau fracture at home and abroad was extensively reviewed, and the biomechanical characteristics of the internal fixation mode and position as well as the biomechanical characteristics of different internal fixators, such as screws, plates, and intramedullary nails were summarized and analyzed.

Distinct risk factors of lateral lymph node metastasis in patients with papillary thyroid cancer based on age stratification.

Introduction: Studies have revealed that age is associated with the risk of lateral lymph node metastasis (LLNM) in papillary thyroid cancer (PTC). This study aimed to identify the optimal cut point of age for a more precise prediction model of LLNM and to reveal differences in risk factors between patients of distinct age stages.

Methods: A total of 499 patients who had undergone thyroidectomy and lateral neck dissection (LND) for PTC were enrolled.

Application of machine learning standardized integral area algorithm in measuring the scoliosis.

This study was to develop a computer vision evaluation method to automatically measure the degree of scoliosis based on the machine learning algorithm. For the X-ray images of 204 patients with idiopathic scoliosis who underwent full-spine radiography, histogram equalization of original image was performed before a flipping method was used to magnify asymmetric elements, search for the global maximum pixel value in each line, and scan local maximal pixel value, with the intersection set of two point sets being regarded as candidate anchor points. All fine anchors were fitted with cubic spline algorithm to obtain the approximate curve of the spine, and the degree of scoliosis was measured by the standardized integral area.

Objective: Upright positions in the second stage of labour are recommended by many international organizations. However, they have not been widely used worldwide, especially in China. One of the important factors is the absence of a practice programme based on the best available evidence.

Ethnopharmacological Relevance: The Banxia-Houpu decoction (BHD), a renowned prescription documented in the Chinese medical book "The Synopsis of the Golden Chamber," has been proven to effectively mitigate inflammation within the central nervous system. Previous studies have demonstrated the efficacy of BHD in ameliorating symptoms in patients with obstructive sleep apnea (OSA). Nevertheless, the precise mechanisms and comprehensive effects of BHD on central system injury in OSA models have not been fully investigated.

[Effect of deep needling "Tianshu" (ST25) on colonic motility in rats with slow transit constipation].

Objective: To observe the effect of acupuncture of "Tianshu"(ST25) at different depths on colonic transportation function, expressions of colonic substance P (SP) and interstitial cells of Cajal (ICC) in rats with slow transit constipation (STC), so as to explore its mechanisms underlying improvement of STC．.

Methods: Fifty male Wistar rats were selected and randomly divided into control，STC model，conventional acupuncture，deep needling group 1 and deep needling group 2 groups，with 10 rats in each group．The STC model was established by gavage of 1 mg/mL compound diphenoxylate suspension (10 mg/kg), once every other day for 21 days, and rats of the control group were given the same dose of distilled water by gavage．EA (2 Hz, 2 mA) was applied to "Tianshu"(ST25), with the acupuncture needle inserted to a depth of 3 mm for rats of the conventional acupuncture group, 4.5 mm for those of deep needling group 1, and 10 mm for those of the deep needling group 2.

[Effects of electroacupuncture pretreatment on long-term postoperative cognitive dysfunction and neuron-inflammation in aged rats].

Objective: To observe the effects of electroacupuncture pretreatment on postoperative cognitive dysfunction (POCD), neuronal apoptosis and neuron-inflammation in aged rats.

Methods: Thirty-six male SD rats aged 20 months were randomly divided into sham operation group, model group and electroacupuncture (EA) group, with 12 rats in each group. The POCD rats model was prepared by internal fixation of left tibial fracture.

Neurosarcomatous amelanotic transformation of malignant melanoma presenting as malignant periopheral nerve sheath tumor: Rare case report.

Rationale: Malignant melanoma (MM) is notorious for its remarkable morphological variation and aberrant histopathological patterns. In addition, Malignant Periopheral Nerve Sheath Tumor (MPNST) is an uncommon but aggressive soft tissue sarcoma. Because of the common embryological origin of melanocytes and Schwann cells in the neural crest, discriminating between a particular type of MM and MPNST can be difficult, particularly when they are amelanotic.

Identification of Hypoxia-Associated Signature in Colon Cancer to Assess Tumor Immune Microenvironment and Predict Prognosis Based on 14 Hypoxia-Associated Genes.

Purpose: Colon cancer is the main malignant tumor of the digestive tract. Hypoxia is highly related to the occurrence, progression and tumor immune microenvironment (TIME) of cancer. The aim of this study was to identify a hypoxia-associated signature with high accuracy for predicting the prognosis and TIME of colon cancer.

Expression analysis of TRAF2‑ and NCK‑interacting protein kinase (TNIK) and phosphorylated TNIK in papillary thyroid carcinoma.

The aim of the present study was to evaluate the expression of TRAF2- and NCK-interacting kinase (TNIK) and the levels of the active form of TNIK, phosphorylated (p)-TNIK, in papillary thyroid carcinoma (PTC), and to identify and compare the levels of TNIK and p-TNIK among PTC, benign thyroid tumors and normal tissues. The levels of TNIK and p-TNIK were examined by reverse transcription-quantitative (RT-q)PCR and immunohistochemical analysis (IHC) in PTC, benign thyroid tumors and normal tissues, and their association with clinicopathological features was evaluated. First, analysis of the Gene Expression Profiling Interactive Analysis and The Cancer Genome Atlas datasets suggested that the mRNA expression of TNIK was markedly increased in PTC tissues compared with that in normal tissues.
