Recent studies have demonstrated structural and functional alterations in Parkinson's disease (PD) with mild cognitive impairment (MCI). However, the topological patterns of functional brain networks in newly diagnosed PD patients with MCI are unclear so far. In this study, we used functional magnetic resonance imaging (fMRI) and graph theory approaches to explore the functional brain network in 45 PD patients with MCI (PD-MCI), 22 PD patients without MCI (PD-nMCI), and 18 healthy controls (HC).

Accurate prediction of peritoneal metastasis for gastric cancer (GC) with serosal invasion is crucial in clinic. The presence of collagen in the tumour microenvironment affects the metastasis of cancer cells. Herein, we propose a collagen signature, which is composed of multiple collagen features in the tumour microenvironment of the serosa derived from multiphoton imaging, to describe the extent of collagen alterations.

Development and Validation of an RNA Sequencing Assay for Gene Fusion Detection in Formalin-Fixed, Paraffin-Embedded Tumors.

RNA sequencing (RNA-seq) is a well-validated tool for detecting gene fusions in fresh-frozen tumors; however, RNA-seq is much more challenging to use with formalin-fixed, paraffin-embedded (FFPE) tumor samples. We evaluated the performance of RNA-seq to detect gene fusions in clinical FFPE tumor samples. Our assay identified all 15 spiked-in NTRK fusions from RNA reference material and six known fusions from five cancer cell lines.

Methods: Data extracted from a polytrauma study on Dryad, an open access database, was selected for secondary analysis. Patients from 18 to 65 years old with polytrauma in the original data were included.

Short term effects of air pollutants on hospital admissions for respiratory diseases among children: A multi-city time-series study in China.

Evidence concerning short-term acute association between air pollutants and hospital admissions for respiratory diseases among children in a multi-city setting was quite limited. We conducted a time-series analysis to evaluate the association of six common air pollutants with hospital admissions for respiratory diseases among children aged 0-14 years in 4 cities (Guangzhou, Shanghai, Wuhan and Xining), China during 2013-2018. We used generalized additive models incorporating penalized smoothing splines and random-effect meta-analysis to calculate city-specific and pooled estimates, respectively.

Effect of acupoint therapy combined with spine pinching in patients with menopausal syndrome: a randomized controlled trial.

Objective: To assess the efficacy of acupoint therapy combined with spine pinching in patients with menopausal syndrome.

Methods: This is a parallel, randomized, controlled, investigator-blinded trial. A total of 132 participants were randomly assigned to receive either acupoint therapy combined with spine pinching (intervention group) or tibolone therapy alone (control group).

Background: Surgical access for retropharyngeal lymph node (RPLN) dissection is difficult. We aimed to examine the efficacy of transcervical endoscopic RPLN dissection (TSE-RPLND) for recurrent RPLN in nasopharyngeal carcinoma (NPC).

Methods: From April 2013 to February 2019, a total of 31 patients with NPC diagnosed with RPLN recurrence underwent TSE-RPLND.
