Myocardial ischemia/reperfusion injury (MIRI) is a major cause of cardiac death particularly in patients with diabetes. When the coronary artery is partially or completely blocked, restoration of blood perfusion can normally be achieved within a certain time due to the development of advanced techniques such as percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI) and coronary artery bypass grafting (CABG) surgery. However, cardiac tissue injury may aggravate progressively even after the ischemic myocardium is restored to normal perfusion.

Objective: To analyze and explore the effects of Huayu Jiedu Decoction on the malignant biological characteristics of multiple myeloma (MM) cells and its molecular mechanism, so as to provide experimental basis and theoretical basis for the alternative therapy of anti-MM in traditional Chinese medicine.
Methods: Different concentrations of Huayu Jiedu Decoction were used to intervene myeloma U266 cells. The changes of cell proliferation activity were detected by CCK-8 assay, apoptosis was detected by Annexin V/PI double staining flow cytometry, and apoptosis and protein expression of related signaling pathways were detected by Western blot.

Protein aggregation, a defining characteristic of numerous human diseases, poses a significant challenge to cellular health. Autophagy, an essential cellular recycling process, specifically targets and degrades these harmful protein aggregates through a specialized mechanism known as aggrephagy. However, the precise mechanisms underlying the exquisite selectivity of aggrephagy in identifying and eliminating only aggregated proteins while sparing healthy cellular components have remained enigmatic.

Ubiquitination, a multifaceted post-translational modification, regulates protein function, degradation, and gene expression. The pivotal role of ubiquitination in the pathogenesis and progression of cancer, including colorectal, breast, and liver cancer, is well-established. Osteosarcoma, an aggressive bone tumor predominantly affecting adolescents, also exhibits dysregulation of the ubiquitination system, encompassing both ubiquitination and deubiquitination processes.

Gastric cancer (GC) presents a significant global health burden, with metastasis being the leading cause of treatment failure and mortality. NAT10, a regulatory protein involved in mRNA acetylation, has been implicated in various cancers. However, its role in GC, especially concerning metastasis and immune interactions, remains unclear.

Purpose: To investigate the effects of fresh embryo transfer and frozen-thawed embryo transfer on perinatal outcomes among patients with PCOS.
Method: Patients who underwent in vitro fertilization and embryo transfer at the reproductive medicine center of the Affiliated Hospital of Guangdong Medical University from February 2013 to March 2021 were retrospectively analyzed. Patients were divided into the fresh embryo transfer group and frozen-thawed embryo transfer group according to whether fresh embryo transfer was performed.

Eye movement as a neurobiological biomarker of schizophrenia. We aim to estimate diagnostic accuracy of integrated pro/antisaccade eye movement measurements to discriminate between healthy individuals and schizophrenic patients. We compared the eye movement performance of 85 healthy individuals and 116 schizophrenia-stable patients during prosaccade and antisaccade tasks.

Diabetic foot ulcer (DFU) is a serious complication of diabetes mellitus, which causes great health damage and economic burden to patients. The pathogenesis of DFU is not fully understood. We screened wound healing-related genes using bioinformatics analysis, and full-thickness skin injury mice model and cellular assays were used to explore the role of target genes in diabetic wound healing.

This study aimed to investigate the impact of the dosage and duration of fluoride and aluminum(F and Al) co-exposure on the skeletal growth and bone quality of juvenile rats. Forty-eight 8-week-old Sprague-Dawley rats were randomly assigned to normal control, low F and Al exposure, and high F and Al exposure groups, with 45-day and 90-day subgroups established for each. We measured body length, tibia length, conducted bone histomorphometric analysis of the proximal tibia, performed micro-CT scans and three-point bending tests of the femur.

Background: Parenteral nutrition (PN) plays a crucial role in nutrition support therapy, yet data on related adverse events (AEs) in practical settings are scarce. To address this, we analyzed AE signals associated with PN treatment from the United States Food and Drug Administration Adverse Event Reporting System (FAERS) database.
Methods: We extracted data from the FAERS database, covering the period from the first quarter (Q1) of 2004 to Q1 of 2024.

Tumor-infiltrating lymphocytes (TILs) have been described in various malignancies and viewed as a sign of anti-tumor immunity, so they are frequently thought to be implicated in the prognosis of cancers. However, little information is available on the association of the distribution pattern of TILs with clinical outcomes in gastric cancer (GC). TIL densities at different regions were assessed immunohistochemically in 59 GC patients to analyze their relationship with clinicopathological characteristics.

Understanding the molecular mechanisms that bridge hepatic inflammation and liver injury is crucial for developing effective therapeutic strategies for drug-induced liver injury (DILI) management. HECT domain and RCC1-like domain 2 (HERC2) belongs to the large Herc family of ubiquitin E3 ligases, which are implicated in tissue development and inflammation. The observation reveals a pronounced HERC2 expression in specific hepatocyte subsets that proliferate in response to DILI in humans, prompting an investigation into the role of HERC2 in distinct DILI progression.

Observational studies have consistently shown a correlation between breast cancer (BC) and endometrial cancer (EC). Despite these findings, the causal relationship between these cancers has not been clearly defined. This research employed a bidirectional two-sample Mendelian randomization to explore the genetic causality between BC and EC.

Depression is characterized by both neuroinflammation and neurodegeneration. Exosomes (Exo) have been shown to function as inhibitors of inflammation and promoters of neurogenesis. Omega-3 polyunsaturated fatty acids, such as eicosapentaenoic acid, can combat depression by increasing levels of docosapentaenoic acid (DPA).

Background: Nasopharyngeal carcinoma (NPC) originates in the nasopharyngeal mucosa, the lateral wall of the nasopharynx. A significant challenge in NPC management is skull-base bone invasion (SBBI), which affects prognosis and treatment planning. Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) is the primary diagnostic tool for SBBI in NPC patients; however, the detection of SBBI can be challenging due to skull-base complexity and overlapping MRI signals.
