Biased µ-opioid receptor (MOR) agonists enhance pain relief by selectively activating G protein-coupled receptor signaling and minimizing β-arrestin-2 activation, resulting in fewer side effects. This multicenter Phase II/III trial evaluated the optimal dosage, efficacy, and safety of SHR8554, a biased MOR agonist, for postoperative pain management following orthopedic surgery. In Phase II, 121 patients were divided into four groups to receive varying patient-controlled analgesia (PCA) doses of SHR8554 or morphine.

However, the use of adjunctive intra-arterial alteplase following successful EVT in acute posterior circulation stroke remains unexplored.

Empathy appeared to be affected by the learning environment (LE), which could be a potential contributor. We conducted a cross-sectional study to investigate the association between LE and empathy.

Research on the application effect of arthroscopic access modification in meniscal injury repair.

Objective: To investigate the application value of arthroscopic channel modification in meniscal injury repair.

Methods: We retrospectively analyzed the data of 100 patients with meniscus injuries treated with knee arthroscopy from December 2022 to December 2023 and divided them into a control group and a modified group according to the application of "arthroscopic access modification technology". We compared the operation time, postoperative hospitalization time, VAS score, Lysholm knee function score, postoperative complications, and postoperative images of the patients in these two groups.

A machine learning-based model to predict POD24 in follicular lymphoma: a study by the Chinese workshop on follicular lymphoma.

Background: Disease progression within 24 months (POD24) significantly impacts overall survival (OS) in patients with follicular lymphoma (FL). This study aimed to develop a robust predictive model, FLIPI-C, using a machine learning approach to identify FL patients at high risk of POD24.

Methods: A cohort of 1,938 FL patients (FL1-3a) from seventeen centers nationwide in China was randomly divided into training and internal validation sets (2:1 ratio).

Background: To analyze the demographic characteristics of retinopathy of prematurity (ROP) in China, attempting to propose optimized screening criteria and hopefully providing valuable information for future updates to the ROP guideline.

Methods: A multicenter, retrospective-cohort study was conducted. The study included infants born between January 1, 2018, and July 31, 2023, who underwent ROP screening and were diagnosed with ROP at seven screening centers in China.

Background: Metabolic dysfunction-associated steatotic liver disease (MASLD) has become the most common chronic liver disease worldwide. Previous studies have reported that an elevated triglyceride glucose (TyG) index is significantly associated with the development of AKI in patients with cardiovascular disease, as well as in those undergoing surgery; however, the potential of the TyG index to predict AKI following neurotrauma remains unclear. Granulomatous mastitis (GM) poses challenges in diagnosis and treatment due to its similarities with other breast diseases like cancer. The comparative study evaluated the efficacy and safety of a vacuum-assisted biopsy device with minimally invasive excisions compared to traditional wide local excisions. The vacuum-assisted biopsy device technique offers benefits such as precise tissue removal, reduced damage to healthy tissue, shorter surgery and recovery times, and lower postoperative complication risks.

Diagnosis of lymph node metastasis in oral squamous cell carcinoma by an MRI-based deep learning model.

Background: Cervical lymph node metastasis (LNM) is a well-established poor prognosticator of oral squamous cell carcinoma (OSCC), in which occult metastasis is a subtype that makes prediction challenging. Here, we developed and validated a deep learning (DL) model using magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) for the identification of LNM in OSCC patients.

Methods: This retrospective diagnostic study developed a three-stage DL model by 45,664 preoperative MRI images from 723 patients in 10 Chinese hospitals between January 2015 and October 2020.

External auditory canal cholesteatoma: staging and treatment strategies.

Objective: To investigate clinical staging systems and appropriate treatment strategies for external auditory canal cholesteatoma (EACC).

Methods: We performed comparative analysis of the features of several staging schemes (Holt, Naim, Shin, Chang, Kaneda, Hn, and He) of EACC; retrospective analysis of the clinical data of 44 patients with primary EACC, and analyzed the prognosis.

Results: He's staging system (2019) was found to be particularly clear and practical.

Preoperative prediction of lymph node metastasis in intrahepatic cholangiocarcinoma: an integrative approach combining ultrasound-based radiomics and inflammation-related markers.
