[Mechanism of protective effect of resveratrol on poor ovarian response in mice].

This study aims to investigate the therapeutic effects and potential mechanisms of resveratrol(Res) on poor ovarian response(POR) in mice. The common target genes shared by Res and POR were predicted by network pharmacology, used for Gene Ontology(GO) annotation and Kyoto Encyclopedia of Genes and Genomes(KEGG) pathway enrichment, and then validated by animal experiments. The mice with regular estrous cycle after screening were randomized into normal, POR, and low-and high-dose(20 and 40 mg·kg~(-1), respectively) Res groups.

Correlations of visfatin with severity of acute myocardial infarction, cardiovascular risk factors and atrial fibrillation after percutaneous coronary intervention.

Background: To investigate the relationship between visfatin level in the peripheral blood of patients with acute myocardial infarction (AMI) patients and the severity of AMI, cardiovascular risk factors and atrial fibrillation after percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI).

Methods: A total of 37 AMI patients diagnosed and treated in our hospital were selected as experimental group, and 35 patients with normal coronary angiography were enrolled as control group. The general pathological data and occurrence of atrial fibrillation after PCI of all the patients were recorded in detail, and the content of indexes related to the severity of AMI and visfatin was measured.

Identification of key genes associated with heart failure based on bioinformatics analysis and screening of traditional Chinese medicines for the prevention and treatment of heart failure.

Heart failure (HF) is the final stage of heart disease. An increasing number of experiments and clinical reports have shown that traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) has many therapeutic effects and advantages in treating HF. In this study, we used bioinformatics methods to screen key genes and predict the components of Chinese herbal medicines with preventive and therapeutic effects on HF.

Background: Chronic pelvic inflammatory disease (CPID) is a clinically common gynecological disease. Patients experience chronic pelvic pain and often accompany with emotional dysfunction. However, the impact and correlation of anxiety and depression on pain sensitization is not completely known.

Polysaccharides Ameliorate Chronic Stress-Induced Depression in Mice through Gut Microbiota-Derived Short-Chain Fatty Acid Activation of 5-Hydroxytryptamine Signaling.

Depression, a prevalent psychiatric disorder, presents a serious health risk to humans. Increasing evidence suggested that the gut microbiota and the 5-hydroxytryptamine (5-HT) pathway both contribute significantly to depression. This research aimed to investigate how polysaccharides (CYP) could potentially alleviate depression induced by chronic unpredictable mild stress in mice, as well as its underlying mechanism.

Lipids and sudden sensorineural hearing loss: A bidirectional two-sample Mendelian randomization analysis.

Objective: While numerous observational studies have indicated an association between lipids and Sudden Sensorineural Hearing Loss (SSNHL), it remains uncertain whether dyslipidemia serves as a causal risk factor for SSNHL. Our objective is to elucidate the potential causal relationship between lipid levels and SSNHL through Mendelian randomization analysis.

Methods: The primary and secondary lipid data used in this study were sourced from the UK Biobank (UKBB) and the Global Lipid Genetics Consortium results (GLGC), respectively.

Narcolepsy and cardiovascular disease: A two-sample Mendelian randomization study.

Background: Observational findings suggest that patients with narcolepsy are at higher risk for cardiovascular diseases (CVDs), but the potential causal relationship between narcolepsy and CVDs is unclear. Therefore, Mendelian randomization (MR) was used to explore the association between narcolepsy and CVDs.

Methods: Summary statistics related to narcolepsy, coronary artery disease (CAD), myocardial infarction (MI), heart failure (HF), any stroke (AS), and any ischemic stroke (AIS) were extracted from the public database of relevant published genome-wide association studies (GWAS).

Efficacy of Acupuncture for Chronic Spontaneous Urticaria : A Randomized Controlled Trial.

Background: The effectiveness of acupuncture for patients with chronic spontaneous urticaria (CSU), reported in a few small-scale studies, is not convincing.

Objective: To investigate whether acupuncture leads to better effects on CSU than sham acupuncture or waitlist control.

Design: A multicenter, randomized, sham-controlled trial.

Dyadic transmission of depression in the elderly people with disabilities to caregiver burden: Multiple mediating roles of caring ability and resilience.

Objectives: The interaction between elderly people with disabilities and their caregivers and the improvement of caregiver burden is important for elderly people with disabilities and their caregivers. This study aims to explore the multiple mediating roles of caregiver's caring ability and resilience in depression in the elderly people with disabilities on caregiver burden.

Methods: A total of 246 elderly people with disabilities at home and their family caregivers from 5 regions were investigated by questionnaires, including the General Information Questionnaire, the Patient Health Questionnaire, the Family Caregiver Task Inventory, the Resilience Scale, and the Caregiver Burden Interview.

Prevalence and risk factors of frailty in older patients with chronic heart failure: a systematic review and meta-analysis.

Aim: To provide a summary of the available evidence concerning prevalence and risk factors of frailty in elderly patients with CHF.

Methods: PubMed, Embase, Web of Science, CINAHL, The Cochrane Library, China National Knowledge Infrastructure Database (CNKI), Chinese Biomedical Database (Sinomed), Weipu Database (VIP), and Wanfang database were searched from inception to July 2023. This study strictly followed the PRISMA guidelines.

Effect of Bushen Huoxue recipe on serum metabolomics in polycystic ovary syndrome rats.

Objective: To investigate the effect of Bushen Huoxue Recipe (BSHXR) on serum metabolomics in polycystic ovary syndrome rat (PCOSR).

Methods: In our study, twenty-four 6-week-old Sprague-Dawley (SD) female rats were randomly divided into three groups: treatment group, model group and blank group. The blank group and other groups were gavaged in different ways each morning, and the rats were treated with normal saline or BSHXR containing liquid each afternoon.

The role of robot-assisted training on rehabilitation outcomes in Parkinson's disease: a systematic review and meta-analysis.

Purpose: The study aims to assess the efficacy of robot-assisted rehabilitation training on upper and lower limb motor function and fatigue in Parkinson's disease (PD), and to explore the best-acting robotic rehabilitation program.

Methods: We searched studies in seven databases and the search period was from the build to 30 June 2023. Two researchers independently screened studies and assessed the quality of the studies for data extraction.

Background: The previous epidemiological and experimental evidence has implied the linkage between chronic inflammation to idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis (IPF). However, it was still unclear whether there were casual associations between circulating inflammatory cytokines and IPF development. The objective of present study was to examine whether altered genetically predicted concentration of circulating cytokines were associated with IPF development using a two-sample Mendelian randomization (MR) analysis.

However, polyphenols are so easy to transform that it is unknown that how drying methods driven by heating affect the anti-fatigue effect of PE. This manuscript investigated the effects of five drying methods on the chemical composition transformation and anti-fatigue of PE, and discussed the action mechanism.

Methods: Forty-five female Sprague-Dawley rats were randomly divided for two times. The first time, they were randomly divided into model group and blank group (Group C) according to 2:1, and the second time, the model group were randomly divided into model control group (Group B) and intervention treatment group (Group A) according to 1:1.

Operational and Intervention Effects of Targeted Tuina in Lumbar Intervertebral Disc Degeneration Model Rabbits.

Tui Na or massage therapy alleviates symptoms related to intervertebral disc degeneration (IDD). However, precise, repeatable, standardized instructions for Tuina manipulation are lacking. This study establishes IDD model rabbits induced by fibrous ring puncture, creates targeted Tuina stimulation protocols at the acupuncture points in the lumbar region, and describes in detail the operation methods and requirements of kneading, pointing, and flicking.

Acupuncture for Patients with Chronic Spontaneous Urticaria: A Randomized, Sham-Controlled Pilot Trial.

Objective: To determine the feasibility of conducting a full-scale randomized controlled trial (RCT) and investigate the basic information and safety of acupuncture for patients with chronic spontaneous urticaria (CSU).

Methods: A total of 80 participants with CSU from July 2018 to July 2019 were randomly assigned to receive active acupuncture (n=41) on a fixed prescription of acupoints or sham acupuncture (n=39) with superficial acupuncture on non-acupuncture points through the completely randomized design. Patients in both groups received 5 sessions per week for 2 weeks, and participants were followed for a further 2 weeks.

Gastro‑oesophageal reflux disease in liver cirrhosis: Possible pathogenesis and clinical intervention (Review).

Oesophageal variceal bleeding is a common complication of decompensated liver cirrhosis (LC). Some studies have reported that reflux oesophagitis (RE) is a risk factor for upper gastrointestinal bleeding, and greatly impacts the quality of life. However, the frequency and mechanism of gastro-oesophageal reflux disease (GERD) in LC remain unclear.

Assessing the causal relationship between genetically determined inflammatory biomarkers and low back pain risk: a bidirectional two-sample Mendelian randomization study.

Background: Observational studies have suggested an association between inflammatory markers and low back pain (LBP), but the causal relationship between these factors remains uncertain.

Methods: We conducted a bidirectional two-sample Mendelian randomization analysis (MR) study to investigate whether there is a causal relationship between inflammatory markers and low back pain. We obtained genetic data for CRP, along with its upstream inflammatory markers IL-6, IL-8, and IL-10, as well as low back pain from publicly available genome-wide association studies (GWAS).

The gut-retina axis: a new perspective in the prevention and treatment of diabetic retinopathy.

Diabetic retinopathy (DR) is a microvascular lesion that occurs as a complication of diabetes mellitus. Many studies reveal that retinal neurodegeneration occurs early in its pathogenesis, and abnormal retinal function can occur in patients without any signs of microvascular abnormalities. The gut microbiota is a large, diverse colony of microorganisms that colonize the human intestine.
