Background: No specific triglyceride-lowering therapy is recommended in patients with hypertriglyceridemia-associated acute pancreatitis (HTG-AP), primarily because of the lack of quality evidence. This study aimed to describe practice variations in triglyceride-lowering therapies for early HTG-AP patients and assess whether more rapid triglyceride decline is associated with improving organ failure.
Methods: This is a multicentre, prospective cohort study recruiting HTG-AP patients with elevated plasma triglyceride (> 11.

Background: There are few proven treatments for acute spontaneous intracerebral haemorrhage, and they all target reducing expansion of the haematoma. The traditional Chinese medicine FYTF-919 (Zhongfeng Xingnao) in an oral solution is comprised of several Chinese herbs that are widely used to treat patients with intracerebral haemorrhage in China on the understanding that they enhance resorption of the haematoma and reduce neuroinflammation. We aimed to provide a reliable assessment of the safety and efficacy of FYTF-919 in patients with moderate to severe acute intracerebral haemorrhage.

Observational studies have indicated that there is an association between rheumatoid arthritis (RA) and an elevated risk of hypertension. However, a definitive causal relationship between the two conditions has not been established. The objective of this study was to investigate the causal link between RA and hypertension, as well as the potential mediating role of circulating inflammatory proteins in this relationship.

Lung disease development involves multiple cellular processes, including inflammation, cell death, and proliferation. Research increasingly indicates that autophagy and its regulatory proteins can influence inflammation, programmed cell death, cell proliferation, and innate immune responses. Autophagy plays a vital role in the maintenance of homeostasis and the adaptation of eukaryotic cells to stress by enabling the chelation, transport, and degradation of subcellular components, including proteins and organelles.

Background: The hypothalamus has been recognized as a core structure in the sleep-wake cycle. However, whether the neuroplasticity of the hypothalamus is involved in the acupuncture treatment of insomnia remains elusive.
Methods: We recruited 42 patients with chronic insomnia disorder (CID) and 23 matched healthy controls (HCs), with CID patients randomly assigned to receive real acupuncture (RA) or sham acupuncture (SA) for four weeks.

(MC) is an aerobic Gram-negative cocci known to cause respiratory tract infections in humans as an opportunistic pathogen, with infections in other body parts being rare. This case involves an elderly female patient with a medical history of hypertension, type 2 diabetes, coronary heart disease, and osteoporosis. Following coronary angiography and lumbar spine surgery prompted by lower back and left lower limb pain, the patient developed persistent pus discharge from the lumbar spine wound post-surgery, which did not respond to conventional anti-infection therapy, leading to her transfer to our hospital.

Background: As intrinsic capacity (IC) declines, older adults are at a significantly increased risk of frailty, care dependency, and death. Currently, the research on IC among older adults in China was still insufficient. We aimed to identify the status quo and influencing factors among community-dwelling older adults in China and explore the relationship between IC, external environment, and social network.

Endoscopic ultrasound (EUS) is vital for early pancreatic cancer diagnosis. Advances in artificial intelligence (AI), especially deep learning, have improved medical image analysis. We developed and validated the Modified Faster R-CNN (M-F-RCNN), an AI algorithm using EUS images to assist in diagnosing pancreatic cancer.

Background: We aimed to study the prognostic risk factors affecting patients with anaplastic thyroid carcinoma (ATC), develop a clinical prognostic model, and assess patient survival outcomes.
Methods: Patients with anaplastic thyroid carcinoma from 2000 to 2019 were selected from the Surveillance, Epidemiology, and End Results (SEER) Program to extract the clinical variables used for analysis. The dataset was divided into training (70%) and validation (30%) sets based on a 7:3 ratio.

The human gut microbiota is diverse and abundant and plays important roles in regulating health by participating in metabolism and controlling physiological activities. The gut microbiota and its metabolites have been shown to affect the functioning of the gut and central nervous system through the microbiota-gut-brain axis. It is well established that microbiota play significant roles in the pathogenesis and progression of Parkinson's disease (PD).

Background: Chronic kidney disease (CKD) is a prevalent chronic condition that poses a significant threat to human health. There is a close connection between the gut and kidneys, jointly influencing the onset and progression of CKD through the "gut-kidney axis." Traditional Chinese medicine has shown potential in CKD treatment, but the specific mechanisms require further investigation.

Transthoracic echocardiography (TTE) is widely recognized as one of the principal modalities for diagnosing tricuspid regurgitation (TR). The diagnostic procedures associated with conventional methods are intricate and labor-intensive, with human errors leading to measurement variability, with outcomes critically dependent on the operators' diagnostic expertise. In this study, we present an innovative assessment methodology for evaluating TR severity utilizing an end-to-end deep learning system.

Ethnopharmacological Relevance: The Huaxian formula (HXF), a traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) remedy, specifically targets the pathological factors of "heat toxicity" and "phlegm stasis" induced by radiation in radiation-induced pulmonary fibrosis (RIPF). It works by clearing heat and invigorating the blood, addressing these key factors in the development of RIPF.
Aim Of The Study: The HXF has demonstrated potential in preventing RIPF, although its underlying mechanisms remain unclear.

Introduction: Cervical disc herniation (CDH) is the most common cause of cervical radiculopathy and causes persistent neck pain and neurological deficits. Collagenase chemonucleolysis has been successfully applied to treat lumbar disc herniation, which has a similar pathological mechanism to CDH. However, its application for CDH remains under-researched, and there is an even greater lack of high-quality clinical evidence.
