Dual or multi-targets therapy targeting epidermal growth factor receptor variant III (EGFRvIII) and other molecular may relax the constraint for glioblastoma (GBM), putting forward the urgent requirement of finding candidate molecules. Here, the insulin-like growth factor binding protein-3 (IGFBP3) was considered a candidate, whereas the mechanisms of IGFBP3 production remain unclear. We treated GBM cells with exogenous transforming growth factor β (TGF-β) to simulate the microenvironment.

Background: Gastric cancer is a common and highly aggressive malignant tumor of the gastrointestinal tract that poses a serious threat to human life and health. As the clinical symptoms of early gastric carcinoma are not obvious, many patients are diagnosed in the middle or late stages. With the advancement of medical technology, gastrectomy has become a safer surgical procedure, but it still has a high recurrence and mortality rate after surgery.

Background: Hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) remains a challenging medical problem. Cuproptosis is a novel form of cell death that plays a crucial role in tumorigenesis, angiogenesis, and metastasis. However, it remains unclear whether cuproptosis-related genes (CRGs) influence the outcomes and immune microenvironment of HCC patients.

Background: Butylphthalide (NBP) and edaravone (EDV) injection are common acute ischemic stroke medications in China, but there is a lack of large real-world safety studies on them. This study aimed to determine the incidence of adverse events, detect relevant safety signals, and assess the risk factors associated with these medications in real-world populations.
Methods: In this study, data of acute ischemic stroke patients were extracted from the electronic medical record database of six tertiary hospitals between January 2019 and August 2021.

Myeloid-derived suppressor cells (MDSCs) play a key role in maintaining maternal-fetal tolerance for a successful pregnancy, but the role of MDSCs in abnormal pregnancy caused by Toxoplasma gondii infection is unknown. Herein, we revealed a distinct mechanism by which T-cell immunoglobulin domain and mucin domain containing protein-3 (Tim-3), an immune checkpoint receptor that balances maternal-fetal tolerance during pregnancy, contributes to the immunosuppressive function of MDSCs during T. gondii infection.

Background: Renal cancer is one of the common malignant tumors of the urinary tract, prone to distant metastasis and drug resistance, with a poor clinical prognosis. SLC14A1 belongs to the solute transporter family, which plays a role in urinary concentration and urea nitrogen recycling in the renal, and is closely associated with the development of a variety of tumors.
Methods: Transcription data for renal clear cell carcinoma (KIRC) were obtained from the public databases Gene Expression Omnibus database (GEO) and The Cancer Genome Atlas (TCGA), and we investigated the differences in SLC14A1 expression in cancerous and normal tissues of renal cancer, its correlation with the clinicopathological features of renal cancer patients.
