Following the publication of this paper, it was drawn to the Editor's attention by a concerned reader that certain of the Transwell invasion assay data shown in Figs. 2C and 4B were strikingly similar to data appearing in different form in a paper by different authors at a different research institute that had already been submitted for publication. Owing to the fact that the contentious data in the above article had already been submitted for publication prior to its submission to , the Editor has decided that this paper should be retracted from the Journal.

Transl Cancer Res

July 2022

Department of General Surgery, Affiliated Hangzhou First People's Hospital, Zhejiang University School of Medicine, Hangzhou, China.

Background: Sarcomatoid carcinoma (SCP) and carcinosarcoma (CSP) of the pancreas are extremely rare entities and little is known about their characteristics. Using a population-based cancer registry, we aimed at improving our understanding of these entities with a focus on the comparison between these two entities.

Methods: Patients with SCP or CSP were identified through the Surveillance Epidemiology and End Results (SEER) database.

Subsequently to the publication of this paper, the authors have realized that they made an error during the sorting of the data panels shown for the migration and invasion assays shown in Fig. 2C; essentially, the 'Invasion/PLL3.7' panel was chosen from the same original data source as the panel selected to represent the 'Migration/Inhibitor‑NC' experiment.

Objective: Numerous studies have shown that neuroinflammation and brain edema play an important role in early brain injury (EBI) after subarachnoid hemorrhage (SAH). 2-Methoxyestradiol (2-ME) has been shown to have anti-inflammatory and anti-angiogenic effects. This study aimed to investigate the effects of 2-ME on neuroinflammation and brain edema after SAH and its underlying mechanism of action.

lncRNA H19 promotes glioblastoma multiforme development by activating autophagy by sponging miR-491-5p.

Bioengineered

May 2022

Department of Pediatrics, Affiliated Hangzhou First People's Hospital, Zhejiang University School of Medicine, Hangzhou Zhejiang, P.R. China.

Glioblastoma multiforme (GBM) is a malignant cancer with severely poor survival, and the cells continue to thrive during hypoxia and toxic stress through autophagy. To validate the oncogenic role of long noncoding RNA H19 in GBM progression and examine whether autophagy and/or miR-491-5p participate in the process. The expression of H19 and autophagy-related genes in GBM and healthy control tissues was assessed via quantitative polymerase chain reaction.

One of the most important surgical approaches for restoring cutaneous abnormalities caused by tumor resection is the insertion of a skin flap. Flap transplantation has been used to cover and fill different deficiencies after tumor removal. However, distal necrosis is among the most prevalent postsurgical consequences for skin flaps, particularly when treating large regions.

Nowadays, non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) is threatening the health of all mankind. Although many progresses on treatment of lung cancer have been achieved in the past few decades, the current treatment methods are still traditional surgery, radiotherapy, and chemotherapy, which had poor selectivity and side effects. Lower-toxicity and more efficient treatments are in sore need.

MerTK inhibits the activation of the NLRP3 inflammasome after subarachnoid hemorrhage by inducing autophagy.

Brain Res

September 2021

Department of Neurosurgery, The Affiliated Hangzhou Hospital of Nanjing Medical University, Hangzhou, Zhejiang, China; Department of Neurosurgery, Affiliated Hangzhou First People's Hospital, Zhejiang University School of Medicine, Hangzhou, Zhejiang, China. Electronic address:

The NLR family pyrin domain-containing 3 (NLRP3) multiprotein complex is associated with neuroinflammation and poor prognosis after subarachnoid hemorrhage (SAH). Accumulating evidence shows that Mer tyrosine kinase (MerTK) alleviates inflammatory responses via a negative feedback mechanism. However, the contribution and function of MerTK in SAH remain to be determined.

Breast cancer type 1 sensitive protein (BRCA1) is a well-known tumor suppressor and its role in oxidative stress has been confirmed. The purpose of this study is to evaluate whether paeonol has a protective effect on myocardial hypoxia-reoxygenation (A/R) injury, and to explore H9C2 cells through a mechanism-dependent pathway mediated by BRCA1. H9C2 cells were pretreated with paeonol (10 µM) for 18 h before hypoxia was induced to establish a cell model of myocardial ischemia/reperfusion (I/R) injury.

Osteosarcoma is the most common primary malignant bone tumor in children and adolescents and its long‑term survival rate has stagnated in the past decades. Previous studies have shown that tumors in the G2/M phase are more sensitive to radiotherapy. The proto‑oncogene c‑myc is a transformed member of the myc family and c‑myc‑interacting zinc finger protein‑1 (Miz‑1) is a poly‑Cys2His2 zinc finger (ZF) activator of cell cycle regulator genes, such as the cyclin‑dependent kinase inhibitor p21.

The enhanced migratory ability of endometrial stromal cells (ESCs) is a key factor in the formation of functional endometrium‑like tissues outside the uterine cavity during endometriosis (EMS). Although accumulating evidence has suggested the importance of microRNAs (miRNAs) in the pathogenesis of EMS, the role of particular miRNAs in the invasiveness of ESCs remain poorly understood. In the present study, the function of miRNAs in the invasiveness of ESCs, along with the associated underlying mechanism involved, were investigated.
