Background: Over the past decade, there has been a significant increase in research on the use of mobile health (mHealth) apps as disease management tools. However, very few apps are currently available for prostate cancer (PCa) patient management, and the available apps do not combine the needs of physicians with the requirements of patients. This study aimed to describe the development of a mHealth application for PCa survivors called RyPros, which includes dynamic visualization, intelligent reminders, and instant messaging to support decision-making regarding treatment and follow-up and test the initial accessibility and acceptability application.

Comprehensive studies on cancer patients with different smoking histories, including non-smokers, former smokers, and current smokers, remain elusive. Therefore, we conducted a multi-omics analysis to explore the effect of smoking history on cancer patients. Patients with smoking history were screened from The Cancer Genome Atlas database, and their multi-omics data and clinical information were downloaded.

Dilated cardiomyopathy (DCM) is a cardiomyopathy with left ventricle or double ventricle enlargement and systolic dysfunction. It is an important cause of sudden cardiac death and heart failure and is the leading indication for cardiac transplantation. Major heart diseases like heart muscle damage and valvular problems are diagnosed using cardiac MRI.

Background: The mitochondrial dynamics and mitochondrial biogenesis are essential for maintaining the bioenergy function of mitochondria in diabetic cardiomyopathy (DCM). Previous studies have revealed that secreted frizzled-related protein 2 (SFRP2) is beneficial against apoptosis and oxidative stress. However, no research has confirmed whether SFRP2 regulates oxidative stress and apoptosis through mitochondrial function in DCM.

Spinal cord injury (SCI) is often accompanied by muscle atrophy; however, its underlying mechanisms remain unclear. Here, the molecular mechanisms of muscle atrophy following SCI were investigated. The GSE45550 gene expression profile of control (before SCI) and experimental (14 days following SCI) groups, consisting of Sprague-Dawley rat soleus muscle (n = 6 per group), was downloaded from the Gene Expression Omnibus database, and then differentially expressed gene (DEG) identification and Gene Ontology, pathway, pathway network, and gene signal network analyses were performed.

Background: Computed tomography (CT) is the current gold standard for the detection of pulmonary nodules but has high radiation burden. In contrast, many radiologists tried to use magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) to replace CT because MRI has no radiation burden associated. Due to the lack of high-level evidence of comparison of the diagnostic accuracy of MRI versus CT for detecting pulmonary nodules, it is unknown whether CT can be replaced successfully by MRI.

Background: Hypoxic-ischemic encephalopathy (HIE) is a severe anoxic brain injury that leads to premature mortality or long-term disabilities in infants. Neuroinflammation is a vital contributor to the pathogenic cascade post-HIE and a mediator to secondary neuronal death. As a plasma membrane G-protein-coupled receptor, GPR39, exhibits anti-inflammatory activity in several diseases.

Background And Aims: This study aimed at comparing the efficacy and safety of severe aplastic anemia (SAA) cases that had met the criteria for SAA at the time of diagnosis (group A) with SAA that had progressed from non-SAA (NSAA) (group B), both undergoing first-line immunosuppressive therapy (IST). Additionally, group B was compared with SAA that had progressed from NSAA and who had been treated by allogeneic hematopoietic stem cell transplantation (allo-HSCT) (group C).
Methods: We retrospectively compared 608 consecutive patients in group A (n = 232), group B (n = 229) and group C (n = 147) between June 2002 and December 2019.

A recent study disclosed that ferroptosis was an important myocyte death style in myocardial infarction (MI). However, the diagnostic value of ferroptosis regulators and correlated underlying mechanisms in acute myocardial infarction (AMI) remain unknown. Bioinformatical analyses were conducted to identify the candidate biomarkers for AMI, and the collected local samples were used to validate the findings real-time quantitative PCR.

The β-lactam/lactamase inhibitors (BLBLIs) combination drugs are considered an effective alternative to carbapenems. However, there is a growing concern that the increased use of BLBLIs may lead to increased resistance. This study determined the temporal association between the consumption of BLBLI and the antimicrobial resistance in Gram-negative bacteria.

Lung cancer is the most frequent malignant tumor, and non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) is responsible for substantial mortality worldwide. The small molecule SNX-2112 was recently shown to critically effect the proliferation and apoptosis of tumor cells. Nevertheless, the precise mechanism by which SNX-2112 affects NSCLC remains poorly understood.
