Adenosine (ADO), generated by the ectonucleotidase CD39 and CD73 from ATP, interacts with its specific G protein-coupled receptors, which can impair anti-tumor immune responses inhibiting the infiltration and function of CD8 T cell and natural killer cell. Recent studies have also identified that ADO pathway plays a critical role in tumor immune surveillance, especially for some non-solid cancers. In addition, although immune checkpoint therapy targeting ADO pathway in gastric cancer is still in an early phase, encouraging results have come out from some drugs targeting ADO pathway.

Double-plate fixation in double clavicle fractures: A case report.

Bilateral clavicle fractures are rare; Double clavicle fractures are particularly rare. We report a case of a 23-year-old woman presenting with double fractures (middle and distal end) of the right clavicle and single fracture of the left clavicle after she suffered a road traffic accident. Four days after the injury, the right clavicle was fixed with a reconstruction locking plate and a hook plate, the left clavicle was fixed by a S-shaped locking plate.

Comparison of exenatide and acarbose on intra-abdominal fat content in patients with obesity and type-2 diabetes: A randomized controlled trial.

Objective: To investigate exenatide, a GLP-1 analogue, compared with acarbose, for intra-abdominal fat reduction in patients with obesity and type-2 diabetes.

Methods: This randomized controlled trial included 36 patients with obesity and type-2 diabetes, who were metformin-unresponsive, receiving metformin/exenatide (GLP-1 group) or metformin/acarbose (control group) for 3 months. Primary end-point: intra-abdominal fat content from baseline to 3 months; Secondary end-points: changes in fasting blood glucose, glycated haemoglobin (HbAlc), fasting insulin, blood lipids, weight, body mass index, and inflammatory cytokines from baseline to 3 months.

The value of resting-state functional MRI in subacute ischemic stroke: comparison with dynamic susceptibility contrast-enhanced perfusion MRI.

To evaluate the potential clinical value of the time-shift analysis (TSA) approach for resting-state fMRI (rs-fMRI) blood oxygenation level-dependent (BOLD) data in detecting hypoperfusion of subacute stroke patients through comparison with dynamic susceptibility contrast perfusion weighted imaging (DSC-PWI). Forty patients with subacute stroke (3-14 days after neurological symptom onset) underwent MRI examination. Cohort A: 31 patients had MRA, DSC-PWI and BOLD data.

Background: High expressions of galectin-3 were identified recently in the end stage of amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) patients, which suggested that immune reactivity and inflammatory mechanisms might play an important role in the pathogenesis of ALS. The purpose of this study was to investigate plasma galectin-3 levels in different groups and stages of ALS patients and the association with related clinical characteristics.

Methods: A total of 51 patients with ALS and 60 normal controls (NCs) were recruited in this study.

The purpose of this study was to investigate the characteristics of primary Sjögren's syndrome (pSS) patients with IgG4 positive (IgG4) plasma cell infiltration in labial salivary glands (LSGs). Paraffin sections of LSGs from 336 pSS patients were stained with IgG4 and IgG monoclonal antibodies. According to the infiltration of IgG4 plasma cells, patients were divided and clinical and serological characteristics were analyzed and compared.

Lacunar cerebral infarction (LI) is one of risk factors of vascular dementia and correlates with progression of cognitive impairment including the executive functions. However, little is known on spatial navigation impairment and its underlying microstructural alteration of white matter in patients with LI and with or without mild cognitive impairment (MCI). Our aim was to investigate whether the spatial navigation impairment correlated with the white matter integrity in LI patients with MCI (LI-MCI).

In this study, we evaluated the effect of lentinan (LNT), an active ingredient purified from the bodies of Lentinus edodes, on pancreatic β-cell apoptosis and dysfunction caused by streptozotocin (STZ) and the possible mechanisms implicated. The rat insulinoma cell line INS-1 were pre-treated with the indicated concentration of LNT for 30 min.

However, little relevant information is available regarding the role of microvesicles (MVs) derived from ATMs in macrophage-adipocyte crosstalk.

Methods: MVs were generated by stimulation of M1 or M2 phenotype THP-1 macrophages and incubated with human primary mature adipocytes and differentiated adipocytes.

[Expressions of HMGB1, MMP-2 and MMP-9 and prognostic alue in human laryngeal carcinoma].

Objective: To investigate the expressions of high mobility group box B1 protein (HMGB1), matrix metalloproteinases-2(MMP-2) and matrix metalloproteinases-9 (MMP-9) in human laryngeal carcinoma and study their relationships with clinicopathological characteristics and prognosis.

Method: The expressions of HMGB1, MMP-2 and MMP-9 proteins were examined with the EnVision immunohistochemical method in 61 cases of laryngeal carcinoma. The expressions of HMGB1, MMP-2 and MMP-9 mRNA were detected by real-time quantitative RT-PCR method in 30 cases of laryngeal carcinoma.
