Mycobacterium tuberculosis combine with EBV infection in severe adult meningoencephalitis: a rare case reports and literature review.

Background: Tuberculous meningitis (TBM) with adults Epstein-Barr (EB) virus encephalitis is a very rare infectious disease, with a high mortality and disability. Metagenomic next-generation sequencing (mNGS) of cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) is highly diagnostic. We report on a case of severe meningoencephalitis caused by co-infection with mycobacterium tuberculosis and EB virus.

VPS13D affects epileptic seizures by regulating mitochondrial fission and autophagy in epileptic rats.

Abnormal mitochondrial dynamics can lead to seizures, and improved mitochondrial dynamics can alleviate seizures. Vacuolar protein sorting 13D (VPS13D) is closely associated with regulating mitochondrial homeostasis and autophagy. However, further investigation is required to determine whether VPS13D affects seizures by influencing mitochondrial dynamics and autophagy.

Successful treatment of relapsed and refractory CIDP with ofatumumab: a first case report.

Background: Chronic inflammatory demyelinating polyradiculoneuropathy (CIDP) is a heterogeneous but treatable immune-mediated neuropathy. Ofatumumab (OFA) is a fully human anti-CD20 monoclonal antibody that has shown promising efficacy in central demyelinating diseases, such as multiple sclerosis (MS). However, there is a lack of studies on the usage of OFA in peripheral demyelinating diseases, particularly CIDP.
