Background: Cancer survivors experience a decrement in health-related quality of life (HRQoL) resulting from the disease as well as adverse effects of therapy. A 15-year-old female patient presented to emergency with bilious vomiting after taking meals for the last 3 months along with intermittent colicky pain in the epigastrium for the last 1 month. Initially, the frequency of vomiting was 2-3 times/week which gradually increased to 4-5 times/day in the last 2 weeks. Background: In this study, we evaluate the cost and outcomes of cyclin-dependent kinase 4/6 inhibitors (CDK4/6i) plus fulvestrant, fulvestrant alone, and conventional chemotherapy as the second-line therapy for hormone receptor-positive (HR+), human epidermal growth factor receptor 2-negative (HER2-) metastatic breast cancer (MBC) in India.

Methods: Using a Markov model, the clinical effectiveness of managing HR+, HER2- MBC in postmenopausal women with either a CDK4/6i (either ribociclib or palbociclib) and fulvestrant, fulvestrant alone, and chemotherapy (single-agent paclitaxel or capecitabine) was measured in terms of quality-adjusted life-years (QALYs). The costs were estimated from two different points of view: scenario I, as per the prevailing market prices of the drugs; and scenario II, as per the reimbursement rates set up by the publicly financed national health insurance scheme.

Background And Aims: Cytoreductive surgery (CRS) combined with hyperthermic intraperitoneal chemotherapy (HIPEC) is becoming the standard treatment option for peritoneal carcinomatosis but is associated with high rates of morbidity and mortality. Our aim was to retrospectively analyse and evaluate intra-operative factors associated with morbidity and mortality of CRS and HIPEC.

Methods: Intra-operative data were collected for cases done over 1 year (24 cases) and analysed for the primary outcome of post-operative ventilation >24 h, and secondary outcome of length of the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) stay >5 days.

Despite high survival rates, many survivors of hepatoblastoma develop late effects including ototoxicity and cardiomyopathy. With the goal of minimizing long-term toxicities, our institution treated hepatoblastoma with continuous infusion of doxorubicin and cisplatinum (PLADO), rather than short infusion or bolus dosing as used in other treatment protocols. This retrospective cohort study includes consecutive patients diagnosed between 1985 and 2007.
