Intraductal papilloma (IDP) is a benign tumor of the breast. However, IDP has been reported to show high uptake of 18F-FDG using whole-body PET. We experienced IDP with low-grade ductal carcinoma in situ using dedicated breast PET, which is more sensitive than whole-body PET.

To explore the effect of metformin combined with intermittent fasting on endoplasmic reticulum stress after cerebral ischemia-reperfusion injury in mice. One hundred 10-Week-old healthy KM mice of SPF grade, weighing 25-28 g, were divided into 5 groups by the random number table method: sham group, focal cerebral ischemia group (I/R group), intermittent fasting group (IF group), metformin group (Met group), metformin+intermittent fasting group (Met+IF group). In IF group, food was provided ad libitum from 8∶00 to 16∶00 daily, but the mice were fasted for the rest of the time.

The Coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19)" caused by the "severe acute respiratory syndrome corona virus 2 (SARS-CoV-2)" has caused huge losses to the world due to the unavailability of effective treatment options. It is now a serious threat to humans as it causes severe respiratory disease, neurological complications, and other associated problems. Although COVID-19 generally causes mild and recoverable symptoms in children, it can cause serious severe symptoms and death causing complications.

Despite the promising medicinal properties, berberine (BBR), due to its relatively poor solubility in plasma, low bio-stability and limited bioavailability is not used broadly in clinical stages. Due to these drawbacks, drug delivery systems (DDSs) based on nanoscale natural polysaccharides, are applied to address these concerns. Natural polymers are biodegradable, non-immunogenic, biocompatible, and non-toxic agents that are capable of trapping large amounts of hydrophobic compounds in relatively small volumes.

Purpose: Peptide receptor radionuclide therapy (PRRT) with Lu-DOTA-Tyr-octreotate (Lu-DOTATATE) is one of the most reliable treatments for unresectable, progressive neuroendocrine tumors (NETs) with somatostatin receptor expression. We have, for the first time, reported the results of the tolerability, safety, pharmacokinetics, dosimetry, and efficacy of this treatment for Japanese patients with NET.
Methods: Patients with unresectable, somatostatin receptor scintigraphy (SRS)-positive NETs were enrolled in this phase I clinical trial.

This study was aimed to evaluate the effects of intensive exercise in addition to the administration of sodium-glucose cotransporter 2 inhibitor dapagliflozin (DAPA) on body composition, including fat-free mass, in type 2 diabetes. We randomly assigned 146 patients to 24 weeks of treatment with intensive exercise, including resistance training, plus 5 mg (up to 10 mg) of DAPA daily (IT group) or DAPA alone (CT group). The primary endpoint was the difference in the change in fat-free mass from baseline to 24 weeks between the groups.

Background/aim: This study aimed to evaluate the clinical outcome of intensity-modulated radiation therapy (IMRT) and high-dose-rate intracavitary brachytherapy (HDR-ICBT) in uterine cervical cancer (UCC). IMRT consisted of whole-pelvic radiation therapy (WPRT) and sequential WPRT with central-shielding (WPRT-CS).
Patients And Methods: Thirty UCC patients treated with IMRT using TomoTherapy, were retrospectively analyzed.

Background Aims: Immunotherapy is effective for many types of cancer, but its benefits in advanced pancreatic cancer, which has a poor prognosis, are not well established. In this study, the authors examined the effects of adoptive T-cell immunotherapy (ATI) on immune cell profiles and prognosis in patients with unresectable advanced pancreatic cancer.
Methods: Seventy-seven patients with unresectable advanced pancreatic cancer were treated with six cycles of αβ T cells alone or in combination with chemotherapy or chemoradiation.

Background/aim: This study aimed to evaluate the effect of intensity-modulated radiation therapy (IMRT) on the clinical outcomes of patients with lymph node (LN) oligo-recurrence and a controlled primary tumor.
Patients And Methods: We retrospectively reviewed the medical records of 21 patients diagnosed with LN oligo-recurrence who received IMRT with curative intent. Patients with tumor of various primary sites and histopathological types were included in this study.

Background: Immunotherapy for cancer patients has been the subject of attention in recent years. In this study, we investigated whether αβT-cell therapy causes changes in the host's immune cell profile, and if so, the effect of these changes on prognosis.
Methods: Peripheral blood mononuclear cells (PBMCs) from 30 gastric cancer patients who had completed one course of αβT-cell therapy were analyzed.

Background Aims: Activated γδT cells have been shown to exhibit cytotoxicity against tumor cells. However, the efficacy of γδT cell immunotherapy for a large number of patients with solid tumors remains unclear. In this study, we examined the efficacy of γδT cell immunotherapy using in vitro-activated γδT lymphocytes in combination with standard therapies in terms of the survival of patients with solid tumors, and determined prognostic factor for γδT cell immunotherapy.

Background: Glycemic instability confers a risk of poor prognosis in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM). This study aimed to investigate whether HbA1c variability provided additional value over mean HbA1c for predicting subclinical left ventricular remodeling and dysfunction in T2DM patients.
Methods: A total of 466 T2DM patients with normal cardiac structure and function were recruited and prospectively followed up for a median of 4.

Intensity-modulated radiation therapy (IMRT) delivers an excellent dose distribution compared with conventional three-dimensional conformal radiation therapy (3D-CRT) for postoperative radiation including the lymph nodes in breast cancer patients. The TomoTherapy system, developed exclusively for IMRT, has two treatment modes: TomoDirect (TD) with a fixed gantry angle for beam delivery, and TomoHelical (TH) with rotational beam delivery. We compared the characteristics of TD with TH and 3D-CRT plans in the breast cancer patients.

Objective: Artificial neural network (ANN) technology has been developed for clinical use to analyze bone scintigraphy with metastatic bone tumors. It has been reported to improve diagnostic accuracy and reproducibility especially in cases of prostate cancer. The aim of this study was to evaluate the diagnostic usefulness of quantitative bone scintigraphy with ANN in patients having breast cancer.

The definition of peri-prosthetic joint infection (PJI) has a strong impact on the diagnostic pathway and on treatment decisions. In the last decade, at least five different definitions of peri-prosthetic joint infection (PJI) have been proposed, each one with intrinsic limitations. In order to move a step forward, the World Association against Infection in Orthopedics and Trauma (W.

Molecular imaging of estrogen receptor-positive (ER+) pathway-activated system serves the basis of ER+ disease management such as cancers and endometriosis. ER+ patients have better response to endocrine therapy and survive twice as long as negative ER patients. However, tumor resistance resulting from clinical used aromatase inhibitors and antiestrogens is unpredictable.
