Treating severe bone deformities and abnormalities continues to be a major clinical hurdle, necessitating the adoption of suitable materials that can actively stimulate bone regeneration. Magnesium phosphate (MP) is a material that has the ability to stimulate the growth of bones. The current study involved the synthesis of mesoporous MP and lanthanum (La)-doped nanopowders using a chemical precipitation approach.

Due to its outstanding qualities, particularly when it takes the shape of hydrogels, chitosan is a well-known biological macromolecule with many applications. When chitosan hydrogels are modified with other polymers, the desirable function as skin regeneration hydrogels is compromised; nevertheless, the mechanical properties can be improved, which is crucial for commercialization. In this study, for the first time, bimetallic zinc silver metal-organic frameworks (ZAg MOF) loaded with ascorbic acid were added to chitosan/polyethylene oxide (PEO) based interpenetrating polymer network (IPN) hydrogels that were crosslinked with biotin to improve their antimicrobial activity, mechanical characteristics, and sustainable treatment of wounds.

The high-quality n-type CdS on a p-type Si (111) photodetector device was prepared for the first time by a one-pot method based on an ns laser ablation method in a liquid medium. Cadmium target was ablated in DMSO solution, containing sulfur precursor, and stirred, assisting in 1D-growth, to create the sulfide structure as CdS nano-ropes form, followed by depositing on the Si-substrate by spin coating. The morphological, structural, and optical characteristics of the CdS structure were examined using X-ray diffraction, transmission, and scanning electron microscopy, photoluminescence, and UV-VIS spectroscopy.

This study aimed to investigate whether the gastroprotective effects of three types of bacterial levans are correlated with their prebiotic-associated anti-inflammatory/antioxidant potentials. Three levans designated as LevAE, LevP, and LevZ were prepared from bacterial honey isolates; purified, and characterized using TLC, NMR, and FTIR. The anti-inflammatory properties of levan preparations were assessed in LPS-stimulated RAW 264.

A polymeric nanocomposite film, composed of PMMA/PVDF and different amounts of CuO NPs, was successfully prepared using the casting method to enhance its electrical conductivity. Various techniques were employed to investigate their physicochemical properties. The addition of CuO NPs causes a noticeable difference in the intensities and locations of vibrational peaks in all bands, confirming the incorporation of CuO NPs inside the PVDF/PMMA.

Unlabelled: Polyetheretherketone (PEEK) polymer is a widely accepted implantable biomaterial in the biomedical field. However, PEEK has a low elastic modulus (E-modulus) as well as a bio-inert nature which is not conductive to rapid bone cell attachment, hence, producing delayed or weak bone-implant integration. Multiwalled carbon nanotubes (MWCNTs) represent one of the strongest known materials that could be added to a polymer to improve its mechanical properties.

ZnO/MWCNTs nanocomposite has significant potential in photocatalytic and environmental treatment. Unfortunately, its photocatalytic efficacy is not high enough due to its poor light absorbance and quick recombination of photo-generated carriers, which might be improved by incorporation with noble metal nanoparticles. Herein, Ag-doped ZnO/MWCNTs nanocomposite was prepared using a pulsed laser ablation approach in the liquid media and examined as a degradable catalyst for Rhodamine B.

Zinc oxide thin film (ZnO thin film) and a silver-doped zinc oxide nanocomposite thin film (Ag/ZnO thin film) were prepared by the technique of the pulsed laser deposition at 600 °C to be applicable as a portable catalytic material for the removal of 4-nitrophenol. The nanocomposite was prepared by making the deposition of the two targets (Zn and Ag), and it was analyzed by different techniques. According to the XRD pattern, the hexagonal wurtzite crystalline form of Ag-doped ZnO NPs suggested that the samples were polycrystalline.
