The article analyzes how primary health care centers (PHCCs) are distributed across the 30 Local Government Areas (LGAs) in Osun State, Nigeria, highlighting issues of inequality and inadequacy.
It finds that while PHCCs are nearly evenly spread among the three senatorial districts, significant disparities exist at the LGA level, particularly regarding population ratios for each center.
The study emphasizes the need for government intervention to improve PHCC distribution in order to meet Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) by 2030 and manage public health challenges like the COVID-19 pandemic.
