In this research, cobalt-doped Ni(OH) on a PANI-decorated NF substrate is prepared via an electrochemical method. The surface characteristics, roughness, chemical composition, and crystalline structure of the prepared materials are described using scanning electron microscopy (SEM), atomic force microscopy (AFM), energy dispersive spectroscopy (EDS), X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS), and X-ray diffraction (XRD), in that order. Further, optical characterization techniques of attenuated total reflection Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (ATR-FTIR) and Raman spectroscopy are used for confirmation of the polymerization of PANI.

The preparation of metallic nanoparticles (NPs) using the green method is rapid, eco-friendly, and easily scaled up at room temperature and pressure. In the current study, zinc oxide nanoparticles (ZnO NPs) were prepared utilizing leaf extract from Mallotus philippinensis, employing two distinct precursors of zinc oxide: zinc acetate and zinc nitrate. The antioxidant and antibacterial properties of the synthesized nanoparticles were also evaluated.

In many parts of the world, wild edible plants (WEPs) constitute an essential component of the global food basket, providing an alternative source of wholesome and nourishing food. Ethiopia is one of countries of the world having largest concentrations of WEPs. In the country, various parts of WEPs, such as fruits, stems, leaves, tubers, roots, or entire plant sections, are frequently consumed and used as food sources for famine relief during seasonal food shortages, as well as for commercial purposes.

This study investigated the effect of adding lignin nanoparticles (LNPs) derived from Oxytenanthera abyssinica via alkali-acid nanoprecipitation method to polyvinyl alcohol/chitosan (PVA/CI) and polyvinyl alcohol/chitin (PVA/CH) films for the active food packaging applications. Adding LNPs at concentrations of 1 % and 3 % improved the films' thermal stability and mechanical properties. The lowest water solubility and moisture content were observed in PVA/CI/LNPs films.
